Sabres Trade Idea
As much as I like that idea, having a 20 man roster and only enough cap to fit one more is not realistic. I wouldn't count on taxi squads next year

Drop Tavares for Bergeron. The sid line stays in together. I think Tavares is staring to decline and wonder what he will have talent wise even next year

He may have a big contract, but remember he is a multiple 90 point man... those don't come cheap

Realistic approach
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Deaner37</b></div><div>Hyman has agreed to a contract with the oilers. He’s not staying. He agreed to both a 7 year deal with the oilers and a 8 year deal with the oilers if they can agree on a price for a sign and trade. Which they can’t cuz they want a second round pick for the 8th year. So Hyman is going to Edmonton for 7 years not 8. And he’s not staying here</div></div>
I know he has a deal there, but he cannot agree to anything before Wednesday. I think dubas might slip in a deal like this one to persuade him to stay. I have heard that Edmonton is offering 5.5x7, so 38.5mill and I am sure mostly an even contract compared to Toronto who could come in around 4.9x8, 39.2mill and frontload the contract with major signing bonuses that would be more in Hymans favor. Dubas is sneaky. He let Hyman talk to clubs so he knows where he has to be to beat them. Considering that this is Hymans last contract, overall money is more important that aav.

Might take a bit more, but they are in a major cap crunch and any other considerable contract has ntc's attached. I would be surprised if he does move. Something has to give there

2.54gaa and .912 s% last year over 20 games and 2.75gaa and .916 s% over 36 games the year before. Pretty good numbers for a kid who once projected to be a starter in the NHL. Roster space for liljegren who is ready for the NHL and cap space for guys who can can do a better job for less...

Well, we could always move on from chucky or trade mikheyev. That would provide the roster spot and cap space. Hate to sound narrow sighted, but I have never heard of the guy.. other than a few agms

Not bad, since its still tight to the cap at 22 players and you are getting a few snags in regards to Hartman, skip on him, keep Dermott since toronto just extended him and sign chucky for a mill. Probably have to move holl to fit the cap, but you could replace him with Bogo for 1 mill. I think Liljegren is ready for second pair minutes and Bogo is a really good 3rd pair D man

Not bad. I wouldn't rely on a taxi squad next year, so.you might have to rework it a bit.to fit the cap. I would send holl out and keep dermott to start. Swap out bunting for reily nash at 750k and things might start to fit.

Nash is a better version of Glendenning. They're both 4c. Definitely don't need nor want both
Doubt Parise wants to come here, but I wouldn't be against it at that cost
I'll pass on the 39 year old who sucked 2 out of the last 3 years</div></div>
I wanted glendenning for his pk ability and size. As for smith, there are not a lot of good options that would fit along with soupy for a reasonable price. Who else would you pick that fits in $$$ wise... and if you say Reimer i will legitimately laugh. As for Parise, I think he would.love a chanse to play with Matthews

Also Winger is the last thing wild need.
Ps: leads fans; I Emphasize some needs to be more realistic, and offer proposal's that are serious</div></div>
When you factor in that in his first 5 seasons in the league, he has over 100 goals and 358 points, that is a special player. He will preform in the playoffs eventually. So, yes, I think the wild would mull this over. Maybe counter with less picks and or a different prospect from toronto..
