I like the Nash pickup. I would worry about 5 years of Stastny at $7M, but it's not a deal breaker.
You still have about $4M or more to spend because you didn't raise the cap, so you can try to shore up the weak D.

A pile of AHLers and 4th liners for 2 established young players, one a top 4 dman, another a top 6 forward? what a joke

Montreal quick retool
If Carolina wants Lazar, they'd presumably make their own deal with Calgary.
There's so much packed in here that's unnecessary. Let's eliminate one second-rounder from each to make it simpler. Let's also take Gauthier out for Lazar because that's about even.
In essence, you're proposing Galchenyuk, Scherbak, a pretty good goalie prospect (Lindgren), a first pick and a second FOR Hanifin and Necas.
Not bad...

for Duchene the Habs would have to pay 2019 1st , 2018 2nd , Gallagher and Lindgren . You are overvaluing Shaw , he has a long history of injuries ....definitely a contract Montreal would like to rid themselves of. Schmidt is not going anywhere , great value @ 2.25

I do think the Habs are thin on prospects... But with price and some good wingers/defence, you should be fine.
Also, Habs fans should happy that they have x4 seconds in the draft! This draft is probably one of the deepest draft in the last like 10 years.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jbarah10</b></div><div>Fucale is an AHL goalie foe now but has good potential. IDK why everyone on here thinks that OTT overpaid for Duchene. The guy is unrealll and extremely fun to watch! HUGE upgrade from Turris. The only way we lose this trade is if the 2109 1st round pick is in the top 3 (Which statistically isn't likely, I hope). Duchene's hometown is 2 hours from Ottawa and he made it pretty clear that he wants to stay. So it'll take a lot more than a G that is a Bust for most people in the league, an undersized LW, and a couple 2nds to land a true #1 C!

I would just trade a 2019 first round pick and 2nd or a 3rd round pick he’s not worth a lot

Ya Chicago fans wouldn’t like it but it would be nice to see Toews in Montreal that’s what I think we should use our cap space to sign top centers so we don’t trade any of our top players

I’m on board getting duchene but not a fan of getting rid of pacioretty I don’t think bergevin is smart enough to think of a trade like this to be honest we need top 2 centers basically if we want playoffs and a top left d I think if we get that we could be good to go if begevin does that then he’s doing it right

Considering how much Sens overpaid for Duchene, I don't believe they'll trade him for an AHL goalie, a TOP-9 forward and three second rounders. It doesn't make any sense for them.

good news for all parties.....these deals don't go through. rhn is solid player and worth a lot more than the expiring contract of gardiner. pesce is a real good dman, who might not be traded for rhn straight up, and in this post the canes gives up two top picks....ain't happening.
leafs or no team is going to pay statsny 8.5m. and why does Carlson sign with the leafs when he so many more options at 7m

This assumes a $75 million cap. There is serious talk of it going up to $80,000,000 in the 2018-2019 season. Trading Marleau and Stasny (assuming this pipe dream high cap hit / low term contract even works) would leave nearly $20,000,000 for Matthews and Marner.
However, there is a good chance overpaying on Carlson could lead to other cap casualties in Kapanen, Dermott, Brown, and Pickard. Though at that point it may be a better option to ship Zaitsev out, as 4.5 million for a bottom pairing guy could be an easier way to free up cash.

This Team Works - Change My Mind
This team would definitely work, however, I think you'd have to pay more to get Skinner. I made a trade for him in one of my Armchair Teams recently, and I had more value than you do in this one but still got informed that it'd need to be more. But man, this team would rip the league apart.

Someone is going to give Statsny a contract like that...and someone is going to regret it. He's been very good in the playoffs, no doubt...but he's an NHL average regular season player.

I didn't mean for little I meant you want Haydn Fleury and he is a top 6 d-man in Carolina probably going to be higher in the organisational depth chart next season so you may have to pay a slightly more expensive price to a cap dump, an RFA and a second. I know little can score more then twice every 80 games unlike one Milan Lucic
