Kings goalies are so bad for the next season again.

4 years paying almost 3M for a BACKUP goalie which is 34? This is one of those signings when a GM does it to make laughs about his former team when he get fired next season.

New York Islanders signed Scott Mayfield (7 Years / $3,500,000 AAV)
Assuming salary cap will raise for at least 4M next season and maybe another significant raises after that, I'd have no problem with the AAV. But for 7 years?? A 30 years old top-6 player?? Even a good one, it's too risky to me.

Another "chess" move by Yzerman. He's probably seeing something that nobody else is. It's another Frans Nielsen contract here.

I respectfully disagree. You probably didn't watch any New Jersey game. He's not great, but he played well in regular season. Besides, he's just 28 and has margin to improve a little bit. Specially playing along Karlsson.

He's a top-4 which can play about 20 min and Pens will bring Karlsson very soon. Pens is the only team negotiating to trade for him right now.

Pittsburgh Penguins signed Lars Eller (2 Years / $2,450,000 AAV)
I'd like much more to bring Toews in a 1-year deal for something like 3.0M/3.5M than bring this declining player. Specially for 2 years. This is the worst signing by Dubas by far. I really hope Eller prove me wrong, but I doubt it.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JackForHart</b></div><div>desmith trade?</div></div>
Probably. Or maybe DeSmith will battle with Alex for the backup position. It's not a bad idea to have 3 goalies which can play in NHL. Take a look at Vegas. They use 5 and won the cup with their 4th goalie, which is now their starting one, for now at least.

Thread:

I know that most of people here will complain about the term. But I'm fine with that, cause he's just 28 and the AAV is very good for a good shutdown d-man that blocks 152 shots last regular season. He'll be very useful in our PK with his physical presence. I mean, he's 6'5, 220 lbs player. I really like this signing for Pens. He's the second best LHD in this FA, behind Orlov.

Pittsburgh Penguins signed Tristan Jarry (5 Years / $5,375,000 AAV)
I like Jarry. But he still needs to prove he can stay healthy. The problem here is the term. I'd like if it's a 2 or 3 years deal. But 5...Anyway, I really hope it works for Pens.

Pittsburgh Penguins signed Noel Acciari (3 Years / $2,000,000 AAV)
That's 500k more than I thought. But I like Acciari pretty much. Pens needed so badly a tough guy like him which is good in PK as well. He's a playoff type guy and that's definitely something that will add a much needed depth to the Pens.

That's a very good sign for Arizona. Not so good for Zucker in short-term, but if he plays like he did last season, he can get paid next season for a better team. He probably have this in his mind.

3 way trade for EK65
As a Pens fan, that would be awesome. But there're two points here: #1 I can't see Sharks doing this terrible trade for them, unfortunately. #2 Why Flyers??? No way to see that happen. Hawks or Coyotes would make more sense.

I'm sure they want to because of Ovechkin. But take a look at their roster. That's not a contending roster at all to me.

He worths the risk. Caps won't be a contender and can get some assets for him in TD, if he stays healthy.
