TB 2023 offseason
Colton has earned more than his current $1.25M. He has arbitration rights so he will likely want as much as he can get. He's the better player but he's still a free agent. 2 thirds is a good deal for a 3rd line forward. SO yeah, you get what you can. Especially since they've committed over $19M in extensions that will kick in next season.

Tampa went after him when he was a FA but he chose Carolina and we got Kunitz. If Callahan went back then sure it’d probably be a win for TB. Depends on if he can keep up tho. We have Erne as extra forward.

maybe but only spot he would take is Ryan Callahan 4th line. Unless Joseph got playoff shock but I doubt it.

Lol and this is the best team the NHL has seen since the 60’s. Is Point worth it? Yes. Would he be willing to take less than market value to keep winning? Im SURE of it.

2019-2020 Roster Outlook 2019 offseason

Quoting: Newanda

I like Callahan's style of play, but he is playing bottom 6 minutes, his salary is almost $6 million, he is injury prone, and he'll be 34. And not to be a dick, but Savard's contract was more useful as it got the Devils to the cap floor and didn't take a roster spot from a younger player.

In all honesty if it meant making the 2020 3rd a 2020 2nd im all for it. Callahan is only one more year tho and can kill penalties. I see your points but he isn’t done yet. Just too expensive and outdated for Tampa.

Looking at the cap
If Koekoek is staying here im almost certain he’s going to be assured a roster spot. Also, Vanek signing is unrealistic. Too many young guys with skill who are a cheaper option. Not bad though but Raddysh or Katchouk still in Syracuse due to Erne playing well. Volkov will surely get a bottom 6 spot. Hefty return on Killorn too. He better hit 20 goals for that kind of price. 4/5. Go Bolts.

Im 95% sure he wont get more than Stamkos but if you are right, there’s $1.8m in space available for that $9m extension lol

@bootboi I highly doubt thats going to happen. Not trying to sound overly biased but if Stamkos signed for less than im sure Point, being as humble as he is, will take a “pay cut” especially to continue playing on this team. Also, who’s going to offer sheet and give up that much future now-a-days?

@newanda I would think Callahan is a bit more useful than Savard though.
