New top 6 forward
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>brgh4life</b></div><div>No, I posted above the difference. If you count just the next two seasons Schmaltz is owed $15,950,000 compared to Granlund's $11mill, but that final season of Schmaltz's contract he is due $8.5 million. So the total over the next 3 years is 24.5 million due to Schmaltz or my proposal of $11 million to Granlund with pick 14 and a 1st round selection from last year.</div></div>
Ahh, my bad I miss read.

Granlund is also owed 11m over the next two years so it only saves them 3 mill of real money. Also could see a bidding war for Schmaltz, as he has a fairly cheap contract for 3 years and if teams are trading for him to use as a 2C they'll offer more then this.

Treliving not afraid to make a move
Can't see the avs trading byram for nylander. They have Byram at minimum for all of his RFA years. Nylander can walk after one year. Devon toews would be the player the avs would centre a deal around for nylander. Both are on one year contracts.

What's the logic behind the byram trade? Massive overpayment. Staring that trade with toews makes more sense.

Middle-6 Scoring
Like the samsonov signing, I think it's fair for both sides off one good season. Could see Haula getting closer to 3.5m in FA. Dumba 100% gets more money in a weak defence FA. Both will likley get mutli year deals. Could give Haula 3.5x 2-3 and not sign Dumba, just have Timmins in the top 6 until trade deadline and upgrade then. Roster looks good overall.

retaining the core
I'd perfer to see Mikko on the wing and Erod at centre (hopefully third c). This team needs a legit second line centre to win another cup. Either through trade or FA (Lindholm, schmaltz, O'reilly). Newhook should be able to sign cheaper around 2.25-2.5 I'd think for a 2 year bridge. Could use that money to get a solid number 6 dman like calvin De haan. Could even send Macdermid to the minors and use that money towards a legit defenceman.

Boone jenner trade value Is he a landy replacement
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ajp_18</b></div><div>If Columbus is moving Jenner the ask probably revolves around Byram and I’d want Newhook coming back too. So something like Byram and Newhook for Jenner and Peeke or Boqvist type of a trade? I know aves fans are going to hate this trade though.
That’s also without knowing how it would effect the locker room situation and the leadership core in Columbus where Jenner is a major influence of that in Columbus.</div></div>
Thanks for the reply man, this is what I was trying to gauge. If the ask was something like a frist and two of Behrens, newhook, Olausson or Girard I'd think it makes sesnse for the avs. But moving byram doesnt make sense for the avs.

Even at 6mill, I don't think the avs will be very interested in Kuzy. He'd more then likely be one of there last choices in the trade market for their two c

Colorado Trade
Bäckström coming back for the playoffs would work.
The extra 1.5 likley wouldnt be enough for the avs to get Kadri they only have 3.9 mill in cap space. Any Girard trade imo would have to free up 3.5-4mill to sign Kadri or be an overpayment for Girard. Hes signed to a such a team friendly deal , which i would think improve his value to more then this trade. Maybe swaping Eller with McMichael but that would't be worth it the caps.

How does the cap hit work when Bäckström returns. Isn't he suposed to come back mid way through the season. Thye'd be 5 mill(ish) over the cap wouldn't they? Also Don't the the avs take Eller back, They'd proably wouldnt want to take back any cap hit since there goal would be to free cap space to sign Kardi.

Don't think NAK is worth 1.5M. His role can be filled for much less from FA or waviers. I would perfer to have Rantanen on the wing and a natural Centre playing second line if possible. We also need money to sign Nate and Bo next season.

yea i think 3-4 years is good for him but you honestly never know. He's coming off a career year, i'm sure some GM would offer him a max term deal, then regret it in a few years.

He's 1 of 2 actives goalies that has shown who can carry his team in the playoffs without much support ,but with Carey Price's current state, he's pretty much the only one who can do it right now and for the foreseeable future. (maybe Shesterkin can join this list)</div></div>
Agreed, and i think its safe to put Shesterkin on that list now.

Tampa would still lose this trade. This makes both worse now and likely in the future as well (rare chance those firsts get them a great player similar to Vasilevskiy).
Players of Vasilevskiys value have to have a return of a player similar to his skill set or atleast the potential to be similar for the trade to benifit both teams.

I honestly don't know anything about the Fenway Group so I have no clue. If Pit was to rebuild they could get one hell of a return between Gino, Sid and Letang.

I don't see either of these trades happening for several reasons. I was just curious what Crosby's value would be in a hypothetical situation and figured if the avs were going to get crosby they needed to move out kadris salary and boston could use a second line center. Obviously Kadri has negitive history with boston.

It would be hard to resign Suzuki, romanov and Caufield in the up coming years if you give Svechnikov 10mill plus hold back two on Drouin.
Also can't see Giraid getting traded unless it's a massive overpayment. He's on a super cheap team friendly deal and has stepped up when Makar got injuried.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>larter232</b></div><div>i could definitly see other teams in on him, and it is asking alot
Mayhaps the trade shifts slightly keeping engvall and instead making it
SDA Amirov and Derms and a 2nd for Forsberg,
SDA had some real good seasons with peterborough and was pretty solid with the marlies. Hed be a cheap effective center prospect for nashville.
and the leafs instead attach engvall to the arizona trade and instead of a 3rd it becomes a 4th.</div></div>
I honeslty don't know much abot SDAs development so I could't say. I think the leafs should focus on getting a skilled gritty winger for the top 6 like tyler bertuzi over someone like forsberg.
