Great leadership, great locker room guy, throw <strong>HUGE</strong> hits to get the team back in it.
Severson is good, but I would want more defensive focus, looking at a guy like Mayfield who eats huge minutes and is a great shutdown D man.
Dunn is wrong handed, he is likely going to want a big deal, and Anaheim should really be picking up someone for 2-3 years on the left, lots of very strong talent starting in the AHL this season at LHD, one of them likely makes the jump in 24/25 full time.</div></div>
I would like mayfield. I doubt Gudas would want to play for a non-contending team, but his style is something we need

I'm in the camp that the ducks are in dire need of a goon or goon-adjacent. Wilson is a very very productive goon

I don't love sundqvist, but i love the idea of a big forward
I think Mac T plays 1C with bedard on the wing to start
I wonder if it's more worth exploring the trade market of a big forward that needs a change of scenery and can come at a good price due to their cap hit/the other team's cap situation. Maybe Anthony Mantha, Brock Boeser, Tom Wilson (doubt he'd be available)

I think Nyquist is the more logical choice due to age and term left on the contract that both parties would be comfortable with. I think either way, it stings CBJ, but they did just get Johnny Hockey to soften that

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dopplsan</b></div><div>Looks like he changed it to Nyquist.
I think there'd be something here. I'd counter by taking out one of the picks and adding Bean to the trade. ANA gets a young, cheap, controllable puck-moving D, CBJ get the cap-clearing space, and a one-year RD stop-gap to help hold things over until Jiricek is ready to give the NHL a try.</div></div>
I think Anaheim would be good with that:
Nyquist, 3rd and Bean
for
Shattenkirk (%50 retained)
3rd rd pick, either year is fine

That's one thing is that I don't actually know what MTL is looking for. They seem to have had a good offseason. The two things I based this trade off of was 1) Petry wants to be in the US and 2) Kent Hughes doesn't want to retain or give up assets to move the player. Ducks have some good D prospects (Helleson, Andersson, etc). BO Groulx is a two way center that I feel could help MTL this year or next and Derek Grant for sure can help now.

Haha, they seem really excited about him. When he was with the Ducks, I really liked him. I think you'll like him too... just don't pay attention to his contract.

(not crazy about re-signing Getzy, I think it's time to move on but for that number no big deal) I think Comtois's number is low for that term other than that this is really solid.</div></div>
Thanks!! I think there’s much more Getzlaf has to offer off the ice that will be beneficial to the future generation of this team.
For Comtois, I’m not all that concerned with what he signs for. I do believe it’s a bridge deal for him just to prove it.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Devil1122</b></div><div>I like the Johnsson Henrique swap for both sides</div></div>

Trying To Fit In A Center
I don't envy the Wild... if you look at the long-term outlook of your team next year when the buyouts of suter and parise rise, the Wild don't have enough cap space to cover those. And that's with Greenway and Kakkonen as RFA... rough.
Such a strange decision to buy out Suter. Wouldn't the Wild just be better off keeping him instead of having to sign someone like McCabe?

Loui to Wings and moving a -24 defenseman
Anaheim accepts because I think maybe you're giving too much. Grant has a 1.5M cap hit for 2 more years and Roussel has a 3M for just this year. With 1M retained, VAN's cap savings is only 500k. Anaheim would 100% take your 3rd rounder for 500k of cap space
