Hawks decline. Canucks can keep Rathbone; Hawks will keep Allen. Canucks can have their choice of those two 2nd's but not both. Hawks will replace the 2nd Canucks don't choose with the '23 Dallas 3rd. That's as much as Hawks offer for Boeser.

And what are you offering for the 11OA?

The way I see it is 2024 2nd for Boeser and 19+55 for 11. Fair enough on the Allan/Rathbone swap, I figured it was a lateral move with Rathbone being an offensive D and Allan being a defensive D.

Keep in mind AZ moved 11 for 27+35+45 iirc and Bjorkstrand who had 4 years@5.4 left went for a 3rd and 4th.

Rathbone is fast approaching bust or AHL/NHL tweener roster filler. Allen is a recent 1st round pick developing and progressing as expected. Remove both Allen & Rathbone and you'll get to pick whichever one of the 2nds you would prefer, but certainly not both. Maybe some neogtiating from there into the Ottawa 2nd or a mid round pick getting added to one of the others.

Let's stop trading Boeser to CHI. He's a fine player, but doesn't exactly fit our "window". We'll take on cap dumps. Poolman/Pearson fine. TMyers also fine, but imo VAN can offload him easy enough. CHI is weaponizing their cap...AND APPROPRIATELY SO. Keep Boeser, Keep Garland, Keep literally anyone...let's just stop pretending the Hawks single purpose of existence is to help out Vancouver with the Cap Problems. The Hawks have options. VAN not nearly as many.

#19 and Canucks choice of the two 2nd's (#55 or Canucks '24 2nd) for #11. The Dallas 3rd for Boeser. Hawks won't pay a 2nd for Boeser. If you think the Canucks can get a 2nd for Boeser, please trade him elsewhere.

As far as the #11 pick goes, the Athletic draft pick value chart has it worth EXACTLY the Tampa 1st and 2nd....as in right on. I like Boeser as a guy that Bedard can play with for a couple season (and maybe if that goes really well....you even try to keep him beyond his contract). But I far from love him or have to have him, much less view him as some significant positive value asset. He is somewhat overpaid (1-1.5 million per) for what he is. Put it this way, if Boeser were a UFA and the Hawks signed him to 2 years 13.3 million my reaction would be that's not great but not terrible and you generally overpay a little in free agency. I swallow on a slightly overpaid Boeser for a couple years to make the swap of 1st with one of the non Hawk 2nds happen. If you view Boeser as slightly overpaid but generally a neutral asset, this makes sense to gain finanical flexibility for the Nucks. If you view him as positive value relative to his contract, you never do what I am talking about. I would even go as far as take Myers as a player to be named later (after his bonus gets paid and it is mostly cap) but the 2nd would need to be the NYR or probably the Hawk 3rd.

So my counter would be #11OA, Boeser, Myers as player to be named (consumated after his bonus gets paid) for #19OA, #67OA and a choice of RFA right to Caleb Jones or Ian Mitchell. Hawks move up consolidating lesser picks, add a useful (slightly overpaid) player in Boeser, and get to rehab Myers in hopes he can be flipped at the deadline. Nucks trade back 8 spots to gain another pick, shed 12.65 in cap space to fill out a roster and add a signifcant UFA/trade piece, and pick up a bottom of the roster D.

Please no Gavrikov at that terms and hit. That will become the next Loui. I know the cap will be going up after next season, but that will age horribly and keep this team mired in mediocrity.

Fair enough, I'm not really too keen on him but I suspect that would be the price.
