No one unless the right deal comes along. Nothing wrong with Poehling and Suzuki playing a year in the AHL. Need to make room for them next offseason? Then that's an issue for MB next offseason.

It all depends on team preferences. IMO, Cozens is the safest best player available, Byram is the best if a team is looking at needs, and Podkolzin is a high risk, high reward pick.

Even as a Flyers fan who was not a big fan of Weal, this is a very good value/dollar signing for Montreal. Wish the guy all the best, except against us of course.

He was excellent in his short time with the Habs, and this contract is very reasonable, I thought he might command more. Bizarrely he was very effective on the PP and actually gave it legs right in the last few weeks of the season after nearly a full year of embarrassment. Also a good right-handed face-off guy.

Thomson is a great signing for Danault! He has someone to share the defensive workload! Great on the PK also, You get another center who can win draw in our zone.
- perfect for the fourth line... I rather have him centering the fourth than letting Poelhing suffer there.... I rather see him excel in the AHL wiht Suzuki... give Bouchard a winning team for once. It's good for the development of a player to be in a winning environment. It's easier to start in the NHL if you have a lot of confidence.

If Poehling and Thompson compete for the same spot, that's not okay. Top 9 for Poehling or the AHL. 4th line for Thompson or the press box.</div></div>
And who do you take out of the center line in your top9? Domi with 72 pts? Danault being one of the best 2 way center we had since plek top seasons ? Or kotkaniemi with all the incredible potential?

It all depends on what their plan is with Barrie...if they know they are going to resign him after the playoffs (which I hope they do) then the D core is set for a while in EJ, Barrie, Makar, Giard, Cole, Zads...with Timmins, Meloche, Graves as the young guys fighting for roster spots.
Byram would be a smart safe pick regardless what they do with Barrie but guys like Boldy are becoming a tempting option as well since he is rising up the charts, wouldnt be shocked to see him in the 5-6 spot ranked by the time the draft weekend

I would for sure, I think Barrie is going to leave, either via trade or UFA. I think it would be smart to replace him with someone who will come in later down the line. I get the argument that Makar will replace Barrie, but why not have both. Plus, the avs have two picks in a deep draft so they could grab another good forward with that pick, if they don't pick Knight.

That's an over payment for ghost. I think Philly would actually be looking to add some good top 6 forward talent, some defensive depth and a pick, so something more like Tatar + Fleury and a 2nd

(MTL/PHI) - Froese, Schlemko for Folin, Weise
Marc Bergevin just fleeced the Chicago Blackhawks two years ago. The trade was: Phillip Danault (who was a number 4 center at the time) and a second round pick for Dale Weise and Tomas Fleischmann. Now the trade looks like: Phillip Danault (who is now a number 2 center), Alexander Romanov (who dominated in the world juniors) and now they get Dale Weise back (who has played the best hockey of his carrer in Montreal). What a difference two years can make for both teams.

No need for big moves atleast not right now
I agree with this. Although I do think if Petry continues this pace for the season the time to move him will be the draft in June. RHD who can put up 40 points a year and play 20 minutes will be a highly sought after commodity and Montreal needs to sell high.

Suzuki <em>might</em> be ready this year, but I seriously doubt CopCarBugatti is. I think I'd rather MTL take it easy this year, let the kids develop elsewhere (Liiga for Kotka, OHL for Suzu, College for Poehling) and get them all a year older for 2019. Then we're really cooking with gas.

(MTL / VGK) - Tatar, Suzuki, 2019 2nd for Pacioretty
The real winner probably won't be known until we see how Suzuki pans out at the NHL level, but MTL would benefit greatly from a 2019 top 5 draft pick. Losing Pacioretty will only help their cause of tanking this season. Vegas was able to rectify the Tatar trade-the only questionable move the McFee has made as GM. Finally, Bergevin makes a long term play.

Good contract for Vegas</div></div>
LA is in one of the highest taxed states, Vegas is in a tax free state I believe.
So in that LA deal Patches would of probably seen a far less $$$, where in Vegas he gets all of it.
I’m still very surprised about the term. 4 years is actually pretty great for Vegas!!
