Girard Trade - Arizona Side
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Skyraider112</b></div><div>Why would Arizona want a #1 center? They are clearly tanking. That said, I think they probably keep Schmaltz over getting Girard unless Colorado is adding something enticing to them. Its an extremely lateral move as is for Arizona, obviously fills a big need for Colorado</div></div>
I said they need someone that can play 1C minutes, not necessarily a 1C. I’m not confident that Hayton could keep up with the flow of the game there.

Current Draft Picks in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft
I like Cedricson Okitundu from Owen Sound for that 7th Round. Not super offensively gifted, but he’s one hell of a defenseman.

Girard/Byram -- Lamoureux
Moser -- Morden
I think one more RD and maybe a shooter in top-6 and they could be there mid-decade.</div></div>
I think it’ll all come down to who they have in net. As of right now, they’re a 1C and 2C away from having a very good future offensively, and they have some great defensive prospects.

I doubt they get Bedard (I’ll probably end up eating my own words), but I’m a huge Fantilli fan.
Fantilli-Cooley-Keller
Crouse/Guenther-Chychrun
On a powerplay would be insane.

I understand the whole idea of trading Girard in the first place is for cap relief. This idea is just based off of a position of need for position of need type of deal.

F is for Friends Who Do Stuff Together
This team looks good, I just don’t think I have much faith in that LW squad. After Bunting, you’re essentially banking on Robertson to finally break out, and Engvall to step it up on the additional scoring (although he was solid last season). I think as long as Robertson has a solid campaign, you guys *should* be ok.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dannibalcorpse</b></div><div>seriously, completely underwhelmed by this!
also, to comply with the requested ratings:
-unnecessary trade? Keyser is a depth goalie at best right now, and the Islanders have Ken Appleby and Jakub Skarek to be their AHL tandem currently. If I'm the Islanders, I honestly don't *hate* swapping 4th rounders and getting a 23 year old goalie, because he's still young enough to pop off into something useful, but this feels like a trade for the sake of a trade. Isles accept but don't se why Boston offers this unless they're at the 50 contract limit.
-I get the impression that Jakub Zboril/Connor Clifton will be manning RD3 behind McAvoy/Carlo, so I totally get this move as a deadline deal if you want to shore up that position. Studnicka hasn't translated his AHL production to the NHL, but hasn't had much of an opportunity - I could see Philly being a team that has the ice time for him to see if he's worth it. I don't get the picks here, though - too many moving parts. Studnicka and a 3rd for Braun probably nails it, without the extra pick swap.
-Boston has a very busy depth chart at LD. I don't see any reason to give up any sort of assets to bring Michael Kempny in. And even if the entire LD depth chart falls into the Springfield Mystery Spot, this is an overpay for Kempny - you can probably just throw a single 4th/5th at Seattle to get him, and take out Oskar Steen and all these pick swaps.
-Easy no from Boston, this is their best prospect for a 36 year old LHD - again, even with Grz hurt, you still have Hampus Lindholm, Mike Reilly, Derek Forbort, and Jakub Zboril as left-shot D that you can easily plug in. Zero need to trade any assets for Goligsoki, much less your best trade chip.
The biggest thing I'd say is these really scream Playstation trades to me - we all love mixing and matching picks to get the best value out of our drafts, but no real life NHL GM is going to include all of these back-and-forths with picks in every trade.
Welcome to ACGM!</div></div>

Nashville rejects. Jeannot's cap hit and skill automatically makes him a more valuable asset. Not to mention, he's young, and they have no incentive to trade him.

Thanks in advance!</div></div>
He *could* play Right Wing, but he really excels at center. He got a lot of hate from Rangers fans during the playoffs, but that’s just a Rangers fan thing to do (only a select few do it tbh). He’s a legit 2C and I think he would be perfect on a line with Comtois and Henrique/Vatrano.

He’s a puck moving defenseman with a heavy shot. It’s not that he’s not good, we just have no room for him with Fox-Trouba-Schneider.

That’s an insane package imo. If you’re willing to spend that much, I’d go after a better/more elite player (Think a Hischier/Pettersson/Suzuki type player).

Not a smart move for the leafs imo. You’re essentially banking on the fact that Robertson would have a breakout season (not saying that he won’t, it’s just risky). The Leaf’s wing depth is a little thin here.
