He doesn't want out, genius. He wants a extension and a raise. Maybe do actual research on a full situation before mouthing off after reading the first thing you see.

Why would Leafs fans keep insisting on sending Holl to Minnesota when they've been told a million times that we don't want him or have need of him?
If you want us to take him and also get Talbot in the process. There's your price.
No it isn't reasonable or realistic. But neither is what Leaf fans keep sending to Minnesota in their ACGM proposals. So turnabouts fair play.

This absolutely doesn't get you fiala. Minnesota doesn't need anymore d prospect. Mccloud , let's be honest is nothing more than a 4c Minnesota already has. So nothing doesn't get you fiala

Not really much flexibility here is there
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HeadHighSauce</b></div><div>I do not think you will be getting 2, Mercer, or Holtz.</div></div>
Again, it all comes down to market on this one. In a vacuum probably not but I think NJD would be fine Moving Holtz/Mercer for Fiala if that’s what it took at the end of the day. Essentially just shift timelines and shifting prospect risk from one team to the other. The real issue for NJD is whether the market dictates another piece.
But 2OA is undoubtedly out.

At least Kings and Sens fans have been reasonable. Isles fans are mixed, but I get where they're coming from. They're on the precipice of either rebuilding or trying go for it again next year. It's easy to be conflicted in that case.
Devils fans have mostly just lowballed, for the most part. Anything that would really be interesting they've been adamant about not giving up.

Guerin <strong>ABSOLUTELY</strong> has flexibility.</div></div>
Zucc wouldn’t really get moved would he? Don’t disagree with the flexibility you outlined but seems like the most logical option is either a Dumba or Fiala move. I think people on here grossly overstate the lack of flexibility all teams have.
There’s a ton of creative solutions teams can and have done - it becomes a question or risk appetite or willingness to spend in creative ways (cap dumps, sweeteners, three team trades, etc)

Debunking Minnesota No Leverage with Fiala Due to Cap Part 1
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HeadHighSauce</b></div><div>Trading 2 guys you traded for this season and getting a goalie for league minimum, not having a full roster, and having 100k in space?
Very compelling.</div></div>
This is the most complicated of the scenarios given that Fiala, Dumba and Zuccarello are on the roster. Becomes much easier when you consider that Dumba can be traded. Zucc's NMC turns to a 10 team NTC this offseason as well.
But go on about why the Wild should take some **** offers from New Jersey for Fiala.

Fiala for a pinto
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CoolHandL</b></div><div>Other than the Wild's inability to afford him, I think it hurts them more that there will be a lot of other forwards available via trade/FA this off-season that will drive his market down a bit.
Still, not often does a rights-controlled 25 year old winger coming off an 85 point season become available. Imagine him playing with consistently great-to-elite players... he could easily get to 90 points. He did what he did this season with an overachieving Freddy Gaudreau and rookie Matt Boldy who only played 47 games.</div></div>
This 100%. And BG has shown he doesn’t get ripped off, he gets what he wants for a player or he doesn’t move them. He doesn’t have to trade Fiala if he doesn’t get an offer he deems worth it. The blowback on making a bad Fiala deal is huge, whereas the blowback on making a bad deal for say Dumba, is very minimal.

Carolina side
I think Fiala makes sense in CAR and Necas makes sense as part of that deal but it’s probably Necas and a pick. Drury likely wouldn’t be going as part of that deal or really many others. He’s ready to play in the league and we’ll also need cheap ELC impact players if we spend in UFA.

MN easy decline. Will get a better offer from one of the many other teams IN on Fiala. Fiala won’t be given away, Billy has more leverage than you think in this trade offer.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LNels31</b></div><div>Yes they will definitely take a step back due to the loss of Fiala but they can’t afford to take back cap. Remember they lose even more after next season. You also have to pay boldy, dumba and you don’t have a goalie on the books besides say wallstadt if he’s the guy come the 23-24 season. I’d rather take high picks that could be guys that could come in sooner than later. Eventually you gotta also trust that you’ve developed your prospects. Beckman was set to make the jump last season, dewar played well last season, and also if you roll with Hartman, rossi and Erickson ekk as the top 3 centers then Freddy will be the center. I totally understand bringing a guy back that can fill shoes but it’s easier said then done. But I trust guerin to give this team a shot every year and he will get full value for Fiala! Fingers crossed for Holtz from NJ. Dream trade target!</div></div>
Maybe there could be a middle team who could eat cap money or/and take a bad contract from Minnesota to help over cap situation for a mid to late pick ?
