all these trades are really bad for Boston. Team is now worse with less draft and prospect capital than they previously had

You're gonna have to add Lysell and a 1st to that Buchnevich trade. Love the fit though

You get a top 6 C and yes I know u guys are loosing a Ullmark who’s the starter on 90% of teams but you guys have Swayman wouldn’t it be better to upgrade the C depth rather than having 2 starting goalies</div></div>
Bruins need cheap, young, talented players and they need to develop a top-6 center for the long-term. Poitras fits that to a tee
RNH is great, just a tricky player to give up a lot for given how tied to McDavid, Draisaitl and that PP he is. Pretty tough to project the type of player he'd be in the Bs system. Could he maintain a 20-25, 70ish point pace? Absolutely, I could also see him being a solid 55-60 point player, which I would not give up that package for
I get why EDM wouldn't do it, I also just wouldn't do it as a Bs fan

Just send that package to Calgary for Hanifin, getting a far better player. Still probably don't need to give that much up

Johansen doesn't make the team any better, definitely passing on that. Rather play Zacha, Geekie or Potsy.
I think there's about a 2% chance the Bruins trade Ullmark midseason. Just don't see it happening, it's a massive shift in their locker room and team identity in the middle of a very successful season. You just never see stuff like that happen
I like Middleton quite a bit, think he'd fit well, but I'm not sure I'd give up a 1st. He's been fine this year, but definitely not great by any means. Think there's a little bit of Zadorov in him in regards to overvaluing a good, physical dman. He's the better player, no question, but I'd rather go after Hanifin if we're trading a 1st

I think Lohrei and a 2nd makes a lot of sense for both teams. Gives the Bruins exactly what they need in their top-4 (and will likely extend). I don't really see Calgary completely blowing it up, Lohrei can grow with their younger kids like Coronato, Zary etc

Do not understand why people love Ferraro so much. I understand he plays very hard minutes for a dumpster fire team, but I've seen nothing that would make me want to trade a 1st and good prospect for. Loved him in college too.
Don't see the Bruins trading Ullmark mid-season

Massive Bruins TDL
Bruins aren't going four straight years without a 1st or 2nd round pick. Just not happening.
Also, that extra retention doesn't cost nearly that much. Minny got a 5th for retaining $ in the Orlov deal last year, that's the ballpark you're looking at

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>FlamesMustRetool</b></div><div>How is Merkulov this year? I know he's been lighting it up in the A, but do you get the sense his game will translate to the NHL given that he's a bit undersized? I'm worried he'll be one of those guys that scores a lot in the A but isn't quite good enough for a top-6 role in the NHL and doesn't fit into a bottom-6 very well.</div></div>
He was fine in his handful of games, but wasn't really put in a position to succeed. I would've liked to see more creativity from him as he played it safe for the most part, but I get it, he was playing a 3rd/4th line role. I think an extended look in the top-6 would do him well, just don't think he gets that with the Bruins this year. Long-term, I think he'll be a good player, 20 goals, 50 points sort of player

Nashville blockbuster
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dgibb10</b></div><div>Which ones?
I can see this as a list of buyers
Van (already bought), VGK (has more than enough D), Edmonton (no cap), LAK (no interest), AZ (probably not buying or giving up a 3rd for Gryz), Avs (no interest), Stars (no cap), Wild (no cap), Winnipeg (no interest), Carolina (no interest), NYI (would be looking to do the same thing we are, which is take it dirt cheap), NYR (no cap), Pitt (no cap), Philly (no interest), Washington (no interest), and you aren't sending Gryz within the division to toronto tampa or florida.</div></div>
For one, injuries always happen, landscape of those team could be a whole lot different a few months down the line. Any team with ~800k could acquire Gryz at the deadline, so some of those teams you listed with no cap could take him on. Also, why are you so sure teams like LA, COL and WPG wouldn't be interested? He's at minimum an upgrade on both their bottom-pairs (Englund/Johnson/Stanley). If they're still in the hunt, I can absolutely see Arizona trading for Gryz if they remain in the hunt. They seem to be done rebuilding and still have a gluttony of picks, trading one of their seven 3rd rounders over the next 3 years for an upgrade at defense doesn't seem all that crazy.

With how cap is accrued, a bunch of contenders will have the space for him

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tupty</b></div><div>I appreciate that you recognize what Gryz has been, but this has been a bad year for him. He has been unavailable due to injury, and when he comes back he has not looked good. Giveaways, mishandling the puck, and questionable decisions. He played well in the Tampa game so he might be turning it around. But if he were to be traded today, a 4 or a 5 is probably all he would get. I suspect Boston just keeps him for depth unless they trade him for cap space to bring in a different D man.</div></div>
With the price that depth dmen go for at the deadline, I can't imagine the Bs couldn't get a 3rd simply based on Gryz's track record. I think he's looked pretty good the past few games, especially against Tampa. Agreed he's had a disappointing year for the most part, hoping he turns it around.
