<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AntiAnalytics</b></div><div>Sabres aren’t trading Mitts</div></div>

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HockeyGawd</b></div><div>Sportsnet: On Friday’s “32 Thoughts” podcast, Elliotte Friedman talked about Mittelstadt’s contract situation. He believes Mittelstadt would not be happy not to get a lucrative new contract when several other teammates did. “If you’re not going to pay him, you almost have to move him.”</div></div>

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>sabres89</b></div><div>That's a fair point, but I haven't heard any indication that the Sabres weren't going to pay him. I'd rather flip him for much needed help on defense- right shot, defense first, physical, middle pair, add if necessary to get the right guy. Mittelstadt represents a good player that could be moved for help, and since the Sabres last 5 first round picks were used on forwards, there should be some elc players coming to help replace him. The Sabres aren't in a cap crunch, it's not like they can't afford to give him 7 per. Of course the Sabres are in no position to move him for futures, to me it's a no brainer- trade him for something specific to help immediately, or sign him. I'm not buying what Friedman is selling here, it makes it sound like the Sabres are desperate to get anything back, so they don't have to sign him, which I'm not buying.</div></div>

According to Andrew Peters the Sabres are shopping Mitts hard....that was reported on Spectors Hockey. Peters didn't say who his source was but said Adams is looking for a goalie bc supposedly they don't trust the 3 we have.
Don't kill the messenger, just stating what I read

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AntiAnalytics</b></div><div>Well there’s A LOT of bs to unpack here, but here we go

<em>1- “Somewhere near 50% of this team is from Botterill”</em>
Acquired via trade were: Tage, pick that drafted R.Johnson, Jokiharju &amp; Skinner
He drafted: Cozens, R.Johnson, Dahlin, Samuelsson, Mitts &amp; UPL

That’s 9/23 which is less than 40% (39%)
And if i were to use all 29 guys who have played for us this season, that % drops down to only 31%

I can see why you’d exaggerate to try &amp; make your point,
but it’s really so flimsy that it just won’t help all that much

I’ll give u a chance to admit your wrong about that before i bother to rip apart the rest of your nonsense</div></div>

Count Byson which which makes it 43% but that's the point you want to debate? How many years of Dahlin Thompson Cozens etc do you want to waste? You'll have another Eichel situation on your hands in no time soon. You can't build an entire team off the draft without adding the the vets in there...how did Tampa continue with their dynasty...always added that intangible at sometime during the season. Like anything else age catches up to everyone even the good ones. Pittsburgh is now showing that also. As I said, it's not about emptying the cupboard but making that one big trade and some smaller ones could do wonders.
Detroit is a prime example, look how their roster is built, draft, some trades and signings. They've added vets to compliment their youth. I'm sure you would agree Buffalo was ahead of Detroit after last year.
When you miss the playoffs by a couple of points and you stand pat but for 2 D-man who have been your 2 worst as it is where is the improvement. Injuries have had it's roll but when you had a number of players who had career years and aren't continuing into this year (maybe Skinner has) you have a problem. This team is in trouble anyway you cut it and the GM hasn't done anything constructive to help them.

Wish there was more of you, &amp; less crybabies like Lenny54</div></div>

It's not about being a crybaby Mr Know It All...it's about this team taking the next step from last year...Adams did nothing to make that happen. Somewhere near 50% of this team is from Botterill, Adams has been given more than a fair chance to improve upon that and hasn't. Because we have all these #1 picks doesn't mean they will all be contributing to making this team a winner see Tyson Jost as an example who was 10th OA and is a 4th liner in and out of the lineup and on his 3rd team. Point is you don't want a Tim Murray and empty the cupboard but you want someone who will make the move when your team needs it. He has not made a major trade yet other than the 3 he was forced to make and had no choice but to do. He's left this team out to dry, even Cozens commented on how they get pushed around.
I understand it takes 2 teams to make a trade but has he really tried, he gives the same BS every interview "it's my job to make the call when someone is available". Come on, giving up a high prospect as part of a deal to get a proven vet that will help now and into the future isn't going to kill the pipeline. Mark my words at least half of these 1st rounders in the pipeline won't make it as top line forwards. We have invested in the core so it's time to get the players to continue to make the necessary progress especially since the core is made up of youngsters.
