“Analytics are god”
“The eye test…”
I’m an old guy and I’ll even admit I under analytics are here to stay. However, they are now the lazy default for people on the internet. I understand we can’t watch every single game every night but I’m not going to look at some guy on twitter to tell me if player x on Winnipeg is any good or if player y on Nashville has advanced states equal to player z on Chicago. You’re better off reading about a team and their players by reading their local sport media than trusting national sports outlets or random people on twitter.

Absolutely not. Horvat is hot now but he’s a 60 point player. That’s not worth that price.

Canada 2023 WJC Roster Prediction
Our goaltending will be better once Ratzlaff and Bjarnson are old enough for WJC but for now it’s by far the weak point.

Were the Habs distracted by the Pierre Gervais tell all book
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Lenny7</b></div><div>There's a lot of weird takes going on in this thread, but this might be the one that takes the cake...Pierre Gervais, who wrote the book, is 61 years old...The reporter who was fired in 2016, Michel Villeneuve, doesn't have his age listed anywhere that I can find, but appears to be a middle aged man. Neither of these people are "kids".</div></div>
I wasn’t talking about this book or who wrote it. It was about young people and what they consume through social media. Stories about racism allegations get their attention and that’s why the media pushes these things.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Koskinen_The_Great</b></div><div>This generation are only seeing now what real racism is from the World Cup in Qatar. A true you know what country. Most ppl in North America are so sheltered that they get triggered by an employee following them out the door and claim racism... Meanwhile in the Middle East</div></div>
I’ll keep it short to avoid sounding like the old ranting man I often am, but the kids today have learned it’s good to claim victimhood. Racism allegations are by far the easiest way to get attention.

This might shock people but for me it’s Kurri. Why? Because he chased the money to go over to Italy and that marked the true end of our dynasty and a fall into a dark abyss.

Tarasenko to Edmonton
Now this is the kind of trade I don’t want. We need to solidify the defence and add structure, not bring in skilled wingers. We can score for days but we need to play with more structure, especially without the puck. We need guys like Bonino, Nieto, Motte, Sissons, Ekholm, Hamonic, or Murphy.

“Deeply flawed” teams don’t go to the western conference finals. Watch an Oilers game sometime and then tell me it’s only two players.
