And it’s not like the Oilers have much that would really interest the Canes.</div></div>
I'm not sure what more they could offer, those are two of their top 5 prospects, including their top prospect in Broberg. Now if that doesn't mean much because Carolina doesn't have time to develop them, that's something, but there's a ton of value here to take Campbell.

To me it makes a lot more sense and cap cents to sign a Bouchard long term that to give up assets and take on most of Erik Karlsson's contract in a trade.

Very good return for the Blues.
Armstrong's killing it with this string of trades.
Admittedly I'm lower on Barbashev than most but Dean strikes me as waay too much go up for such a flawed player.

I’m an old guy and I’ll even admit I under analytics are here to stay. However, they are now the lazy default for people on the internet. I understand we can’t watch every single game every night but I’m not going to look at some guy on twitter to tell me if player x on Winnipeg is any good or if player y on Nashville has advanced states equal to player z on Chicago. You’re better off reading about a team and their players by reading their local sport media than trusting national sports outlets or random people on twitter.</div></div>
Looking at both is the best. Analytics don't take every aspect of the game into consideration.

Bonino and Nieto are the two main reasons sharks have had one of, if not the best PK unit over the last 2 years. they put up enough offense to not be liabilities and their shut down D helps win games. these type of players aren’t the reason you get to the cup, but not having players like them will also keep you from the cup! just ask Tampa how important Goodrow was to their runs!

Of course Pens ownership hired Hextall as GM and Burke as Team President. I know less about Hextall...but it sure appears he doesn't know who to hire in executive positions and on ice personnel. Burke has been a awful hockey executive for years, but loves portraying an image of as the smartest guy on the planet. IMO, poor leadership at the top for the Pens.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LloydminsterLarry</b></div><div>The forwards got all the attention heading into this world Juniors but I honestly wasn’t thrilled with the defence.</div></div>
It’s kinda funny that 7 of our 10 best forwards aren’t here and everyone in our top 9 still looks great (now that Roy is on the 3rd line, I like where everyone is positioned honestly, the only slightly weak link would be Foerster at 2RW, but he did have a good game today). Losing Power and Guhle on the backend was a MAJOR loss though. I’m really not sure why guys like Seeley and Sebrango are on the team. Lambos hasn’t looked good. The only thing I can say about Del Mastro is I heard his name exactly once. O’Rourke is okay on the 3rd pair I guess. Cormier and Thompson are hard carrying anything that happens from the blueline right now, Zellweger shows flashes of brilliance but he needs to get his act together and finish the plays. He keeps baubling the puck and making poor passes, which isn’t like him, if he can start hitting tape to tape passes again he’ll be fine. But that would still only give us 3 solid defensemen, and none of them are a #1. And only Thompson is useful in his own end.

Granted I’m bias since I know Cormier, but he’s better than Zellweger even without my bias.</div></div>
Both (and Seeley) were terrible on the points that whole power play lol. None of them could keep the puck in, make a pass that wasn’t 3 feet behind their target, or shoot and actually get it on net. It was truly atrocious. Painful to watch. I honestly didn’t like much of what any of the defensemen did all game. Our top 3 forward lines all looked great tonight though.

Analytics are ruining your brains
Decent post IMO. Players who play the Reaves style of game are not analytics darlings, but they bring an element to the game that analytics doesn't INTENSITY watching Reaves or anyone who plays his style of game brings you to the edge of your seat waiting for the next big hit or scrap. Also, his charismatic nature brings an element of unity to the team. This comment does not mean analytics doesn't mean anything, but for players like Reaves they do not play for the analytics.
