If he were easily flipped Colorado wouldn't like in this scenario be giving a 2 to take him . At least that's the logical conclusion I come to

No GM is trading that pick. I mean having a player of that caliber under team control for a minimum salary, there's nothing better.

Källgren is 26 and not good, Allen is under contract until 2025 and Montreal should be near the bottom of the standings by the end of the season regardless.
I think Montreal would make a trade with Toronto, but they literally get nothing they'd want from this and achieve nothing they can't achieve now by starting Allen less.

Start of a new jets era
Instead of paying all those picks to dump Armia and Hoffman, Habs will likely wait until they expire or will buy them out. Dubois isn't an immediate need so they can wait until FA.

I think it is fair to say it comes from Dubois as what the agent says is done with the approval of the client. While the word choice may not necessarily be Dubois', Brisson is a seasoned pro and would not have done it without the green light from his client. Dubois backed up his agent in public comments, so he did not disapprove of the approach. He is paying his agent to do the dirty work.
I have heard a couple of former GMs say that what the agent says is viewed as coming from the player, which makes sense as he is the paid representative of the player.

The reason that no one talks about is because any reasonable person knows McDonagh isn't waiving his NTC to play in Edmonton.

No pressing need for Anaheim to trade Gibson for a first, a cap dump and three non-NHLers, including an LTIR list occupant.

Please do your research before pretending to know hockey.</div></div>
Keith isnt retiring. there are rumours of Smith which I doubt but believing both will conveniently retire is a bit much. Keith salary isnt a big deal hes been playing for peanuts comparatively speaking the last few years so that notion that he will retire based on the salary going down is just hearsay. They cant even threaten him with a buyout as there is just 500k in savings so they are stuck with him and his NMC.
Any ACGM I see with both retiring, I immediately think clown shoes

Bad comparison.
Hall signed a NMC and wasn't playing well so for 4M at 50% retention, there was not a lot of suitors.
Forsberg would be 3M at 50% retention and is over a PPG this season on a team that has expressed interest in resigning him (whether that means anything or it's just generating interest it doesn't matter).
Nashville is going to have many more offers to field and IMO someone is able to top this.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jwg314</b></div><div>This would be so bad for EDM. Butchers the future and barely makes them a true contender.</div></div>
They litteraly have the 2 best players in the league who put up over 230pts combined per season. The future is now or they’ll be the laughing stock of the league for wasting McDavid and Draisaitl. They need help in goal and once they have that, let those 2 players just bring you to the Cup. The last thing Edmonton should be thinking about is the future and whether or not Holloway and Broberg will even pan out. Focus on making those 2 first round picks the 32nd overall and thats it.

Helping EDM bring cup to cad
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JaredOfLondon</b></div><div>Price is 34 years old, hasnt played at all this season and even at 50% retained his contract is awful. Added to the fact that he has been bad for years and that is just a terrible terrible gamble. Any GM, analyst or someone with common sense will agree that is a bad move and the likelyhood of price being a top goalie again is negligible.
As for chariot, he proved that he can be on the ice for 24+ mins and get absolutly hammered out there. Like hilariously so, he gets murdered in shots and chances against. He's just awful and when he doenst have a selke candidate and goalie putting up insane numbers he's exposed for what he is.
There is no consensus that it's a 1st round pick value for him, it was literally one mention by Lebrun that people have clung onto like it is gospel because they really really really want him to be worth that. I dont care what your argument is, literally all evidence points to him as being terrible.</div></div>
1- EDM are not getting Price at 50% but at 75% retention.
2- I love how you said that Price is terrible but after you explain that Chariot is only good because our goalie puts INSANE NUMBER lol.
3- Lebrun Friedman Seravalli all said that MTL will get a 1st for Chariot. But ok, JaredofLondon say hes terrible.

Helping EDM bring cup to cad
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JaredOfLondon</b></div><div>well chariot is just bad and price has been so bad for like 95% of the last 3 years that montreal either missed the playoffs or would have missed them in a normal season. Hell, Koskinen has had better numbers than price 2 out of the last 3 seasons.
But sure, nonsense right?</div></div>
I can understand that moving Price at 10,5M is impossible and a bad move for any team. But I will take Price at 2,65M anyday of the week before Kosk or Smith. Any GM, analyst or someone with common sense will agree that Price can be a top goaltender again. Man even Doug Armstrong and Team Canada was giving him the #1 spot as goaltender if he was ready to play.
As of Chariot he proved that he can be on the ice for 24+min of the ice and being good. Again the consensus for him it's a 1st round pick at the deadline. So I don't really care if ur argument is : Chariot is just bad lol.
