nsh center surplus
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Toddyd77</b></div><div>This is a decent deal. Nashville is looking for a scoring winger and Sheary can produce away from Crosby. Plus pens have Guenztel to reunite with crosby if a 3rd line center is acquired. Simon looks to be fitting nicely on Sid's wing as well. I don't really see the need to flip 5th rounders but thats just me being nit picky.
Both teams dealing form their depth to get what they need. But would nashville really want to help the Pens become a strong contender again?</div></div>
i could see a Stanley cup rematch with these two teams. i am not sure the gas is in the tank for the pens to 3peat. but i hope so.

nsh center surplus
i am a fan of sheary . i like what he brings and i do get not everyone works with crosby. this trade would be made out of necessity for a 3c. i think sooner pens can get guentzel into a normal winger role the better for the team. it would suck to trade any of these wingers but sheary looks to be the odd man out if they were dealing.

this would be a fun team to watch. trades could be to much or to little. but sure would be interesting to see what they could do.

avs trade
i didnt take it as a shot. i do understand that kerfoot is playing well for them. just the avs might be better suited for sprong to develop as pens are in the win now mode an kerfoot would help now. i agree that pens definitely would have to buy him away from avs. maybe sprong + fist would get this done.

can this time win a 3rd
i do not think so. Guentzel at center is not gonna get it done in my mind.

i agree. it would be tuff.

Most likely moves from the Penguins
these moves do look like something the pens would/should do. imo i see them try an sign another 3/4c type player to get guentzel back to wing.

murray has a ton more value on the market. i dont know if jarry can replicate murrays early career success but i do see him as being above average.

that kinda where pit is at. not alot of center depth. guentzel is not a center but is being asked to play it because he played some in college.

this would be a huge risk for STL losing a great player but murray could be there missing link.

getting there white whale
dumo is a good top4. sheary to me is under rated. his offensive skill is where his value is. he needs to be played in a top 6 scenario not on a checking line. gustavsson could be there goalie of the future say 2 years out.

strong 3rd line
i think that be in the pens best interest to add that 2nd for coyle. as far as the habs go they may want to resign cole. personally i think he a descent reliable blueliner hes a good number 5 that can be a number 4 for short stretches. adding dea is just a throw in basically.

as a pit fan hagelin could help you out. hes not a bad player just not worth his contract to pit.

fair trade?
i am gonna agree with you that it is an over payment. my logic was filling an area of need with younger player that had some upside . hes coming off a decent year last year an could fill the 3c hole that the pens have right now.his next contract wouldn't be huge either, maybe change out Sheary with Rust on this would look better.
