Chicago Blackhawks signed Alex Vlasic (6 Years / $4,600,000 AAV)
Solid contract, look at players like John Marino, Mikey Anderson, Mattias Samuelsson, etc who've signed this type of deal, Chicago has all the cap space and once they start competing getting Vlasic at 4.6 will be huge

Toronto Maple Leafs signed Simon Benoit (3 Years / $1,350,000 AAV)
Excellent signing for the Leafs. Getting a legitimately good player like Benoit for 3 YEARS at a measly 1.35m is huge. He's subbed in to the top 4 when needed and did an excellent job. Ideally he's anchoring our 3rd pair, but he is extremely versatile.
Easily the most pleasent surprise revelations for the Leafs this season and I'm super glad to see him sticking around. I was nervous he was going to cost closer to 2m after his great play this season and was ready to move on. Glad that's not the case

(WSH/TOR) - Edmundson for 2024 3rd (NYI), 2025 5th (CHI)
JFresh all you want but I loved Edmundson in our Cup Finals run a few years back. Obviously not the same player anymore but I think he’ll manage to be useful for TOR.

Chicago Blackhawks signed Jason Dickinson (2 Years / $4,250,000 AAV)
For future posters… please stop complaining it’s too much money. It’s a trash fire team that will need to reach cap floor and he’s signed for 2 years only. Relax. It fits everyone’s needs which makes it a win-win contract.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mondo</b></div><div>fireable offense by the agent</div></div>
You understand the agent works for the player? If the player doesn't like the deal he doesn't sign it. So Toews like Hedman, probably took less than market value to stay where he wanted to be. While leaving the team the ability to win another cup. You you don't get because unless you're 60 you don't remember Or haven't experienced them winning a Cup. But guys on teams that win Cups don't go after max money and still win Cups see Chicago's identical deals to Kane and Toews. Prior to those max deals 3 Cups after 0.

Holy steal. Toews is easily one of the best defensemen in the league, the fact he got less than Rielly and Nurse is shocking. Such a huge win for the Avs

Amazing it took them this long to throw less than 6 million dollars at Trevor Zegras but had absolutely no issue immediately offering a 34 year old, inevitable regression bound Alex Killorn 6.25 over the next 4 lol

Toronto Maple Leafs signed Auston Matthews (4 Years / $13,250,000 AAV)
The AAV is honestly a steal for what Matthews brings to the Leafs, and since I believe that the Leafs are gonna be rebuilding in 4-5 years I don't see the term not being longer than 4 years as an issue what so ever.
Very good signing by the Leafs.

Perfect.
Decent term - Great AAV.
Leafs haters in shambles.
Voting no is just outing yourselves
Just gonna edit this in so people can understand why this is a great deal.
4 years ago when we were working on the last AM contract, they were talking about 8 years at 13.8 avv (same % as McDavid). <a href="https://twitter.com/reporterchris/status/1092859349473640452?s=20" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">Evidence</a>
Instead we went with the 5@11.634 that turned into 11.640,250, and now another 4 at 13.25.
That averages out to 9 years at 12.35aav instead of the 8 years at 13.8aav.
THIS IS A HUGE WIN

Leafs did really well here, We knew he was gonna get medium term as has been reproted for the past year and half by Friedman, and he was gonna get more the Macks AAV,
13.25 is a pretty good number with the cap going up substantially over the next few years.
Think people are overeacting, that just me tho

Toronto Maple Leafs signed John Klingberg (1 Year / $4,150,000 AAV)
Remember last year when Columbus signed Erik Gubranson for $4M AAV, then they went out and got Gaudreau? They had to dump Bjorkstrand to get under the cap after signing Gaudreau. If they hadn’t signed Gudbranson, they’d have been able to keep Bjorkstrand. Klingberg is Toronto’s Gudbranson. Somebody’s going to have to go, and it’s probably going to be somebody they need more than Klingberg. I wonder if they would have signed him if they knew they were going to get Bertuzzi and Domi.
