Screw the rebuild
All the trades are a joke, And not remotely realistic. Most of those players aren't waiving their NMC for the :laugh stock of the league.
Love how you think that your scraps are getting you high quality assets. Seguin and Tavares sure aren't waiving for that joke team.
Vancouver trade is a royal joke, And obviously no thought has been put into any of these trades what so ever.
Every team :laugh and declines. Not even close there slick.

You don’t get one of the best wingers in the league for 2 late 1sts, an early 2nd, and scraps. Especially from a team that’s not rebuilding

47 points in 50 career playoff games. Elite two way winger. One of the best wingers in the league. I know he has a big contract, but Marner is an elite player and he will probably sign for a similar amount on his next contract. He would cost significant assets in a trade

Oliver Bjorkstrand's averaged 28 G/82 GP over the past 4 seasons and only brought back a 3rd and a 4th. Cap space is golden right now, and teams aren't going to be lining up to spend a pick on a middle-6 guy with a $3.5M cap hit - especially when it's obvious that Toronto needs the cap space to run a full roster. I don't think you have to *pay* to move Kerfoot, but there's no way you're getting back a premium asset for him.

Next year
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GiggywithGibby</b></div><div>Explain why I would be? We have a lot of LHD to develop to see what we have in them, and our 1LD spot is locked up long term. Is he a good player? Sure, when he's healthy. Is he going to help the Ducks do anything over the remaining two years of his contract? No, most likely not.
We don't need more veteran presence on the D, half of them are. We don't need a 2LD from outside the organization, and we certainly don't need to be tying 5.6 mil up for the next two seasons.
Oh, but see, Toronto DOES need to dump cap, and there's what, 4 or 5 teams who can realistically take Muzzins contract? You see the miscalculation you Leafs fans are making is assuming Muzzin should be as valueable to us as he is to you. He is massively valueable to you, he's not worth the 5.6 million to us, because he doesn't get us anywhere. But the cap space he does occupy, that's VERY valueable to you. That's the ability to resign Sandin, and the cap space to go and pick up a rental at the deadline to try and break the curse.
You are buying 5.6 mil in cap space for the next two years, that's why you are sending the draft picks, or a prospect we like, with Muzzin. Or you can try calling one of the other teams who can take his contract without sending cap back the other way, but they will tell you the same thing.</div></div>
You are not going to develope your good young prospects into top NHL players if you do not surround them with quality veteran leaders like Muzzen.

Expansion draft 2022
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Gofnut999</b></div><div>The expansion draft took place before Foligno signed in Boston, so that does not work.
Vegas did so well because teams made terrible trades to protect mid roster talent and dump bad contracts. GMs learned from their mistakes and that was not available to Seattle. They had to take a different approach and did pretty well. They could be a playoff team this year in a weak division.</div></div>
I think this is a “what if the expansion draft took place this offseason” kinda thing.

He paid for it with either AAV, Term or both so, whats in it for him to waive?</div></div>
I see it a bit similar to the McDonagh situation. There’s loads of respect, but the reality is dollars and cents plus giving someone younger/cheaper an opportunity from Leafs perspective. Of course Muzz does have the control here and is entitled to have it based on the reasons you mentioned. Some of the reasoning he would agree to waive for Ottawa in particular: not too far from TO, so still close to family, is a bit familiar with DJ Smith from some time spent together with the Leafs and IMO he has a legit role there and Ottawa could do some damage in the next couple of years. I know what I penciled in probably doesn’t happen, but felt it was a deal that could benefit all involved. Sens shed salary, gain an able d man and keep a first rounder and Toronto acquire a major dice role of a goalie, but have the 7th pick as insurance if Murray doesn’t pan out, also allows opportunity for Sandin. Who knows?! Next couple of weeks will be interesting to see how Dubas manages his crease in particular! You’re right though, Muzzin holds the cards.

Trade doesn't make much sense. Only Mrazek there is a negative asset. Kerfoot would fetch significant returns(lets call a 2nd significant), likely Muzzin too. You are essentially trading a 1st, 3 2nds and a 3rd to move Mrazek and 3 3rds. Obviously there is no value there for the Leafs.

I will say, though, you are in for a very bad time if you play him on either of those top 2 lines. Old stone hands would be whiffing on gimmes left and right playing with that level of skill.</div></div>
Expansion exempt assets for clearing 2 mil in salary. Not to mention Liljegren would be great to have fighting with Addison.
