Neither are being moved. Dell will be paid 800k to play for the marlies if he isn’t picked up on waivers. He is insurance if we have a goalie injury.

Final Roster w Dermott and Mikheyev
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DocArin0</b></div><div>From the research I have Done its pretty safe to say Mikheyev will get 1.5-2.25m in Arb</div></div>
Dubas and others seems to think otherwise, the closest comparable is Josh Leivo who got 925K after a career 22 points in 57 games at age 25. It will definitely be interesting to see what they award him, because really, career 22 points only 39 games at that age is basically nothing, not much to go off of
As for Dermott, leafs have a lot more leeway to squeeze him, he may even take his qualifying offer of $874 125 just to stick around another year

After the draft before free agency
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Misterrainer</b></div><div>I completely agree with you and DeMelo was my original target (which is on a previour Armchair GM roster). I decided to overpay Gudas as I think he's going to get interest from a handful of teams as he brings that gritty, physical element that every team wants for the playoffs. If we can get him for $3m AAV like DeMelo, then it frees up another $500k of cap room for added flexibility.</div></div>
except that Gudas is declining heavily. like he's not even a very good 2nd pairing guy right now. overpaying him, especially for multiple years is a very bad idea when you're as cap strapped as the leafs.

that's waaaaay too much for Gudas. If he gets that after what DeMelo just got that GM should be fired

Getting his rights
It's been pretty widely reported he's been offered 8 x $8 by STL.
Why would he take less from the Leafs?
The point of another team doing and sign a trade with STL is to keep the AAV below $9M per year, not $8M.

Leafs in 4
Giroux has a NMC and I'm assuming Tavares does as well, I don't see either waiving them to move, why would JT want to leave when he chose TOR to play for? Either way I wouldn't see they Flyers wanting his 11mil contract anyways to put him at 2C, Couturier is a Selke winning 1C and their best player, and we have Hayes at 7mil at 2C, definitely wouldn't make sense to bump him down and have a 3C at 7mil.

Petro I think it can work
20 man roster with no cap means Leafs play shorthanded if someone is out with the flu.
Teams can and likely will carry 20 or 21 man rosters this year to save costs, but they'll have the capspace necessary to call players up.

OF course you can fit all these people in, when you totally fleece other teams for their players in exchange for Toronto's bad contracts.
Beauvillier for Johnsson.... Beauvillier is cheaper and just had a break out playoffs, and he's being traded for a worse more expensive player.
re-do all these trades, this isn't NHL 20

Another Dubas classic trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>coga16</b></div><div>he has been doing nothing but nibbling around the edges trades. The Marleau one was bad, the Zaitsev one was bad bc they put themslves in a vulnerable cap space position how they handled their big 3 RFA signings. The Kadri one did not work out when it should have, that was 100% on Babcock.
Clifford and Campbell filled a need but that was an expensive trade to give up muliple draft picks for a back up goalie and 4th liner.
His big trades have been very hit and miss, thats the point</div></div>
Yeah they are all bad, everyone one. What a joke, doesn't matter what the result is, it's bad because it's bad. Zaitsev was only marginally better than Ceci and had 5 more years of term. Sure Ceci was no better or worse but he's off the books and can be replaced by a better and cheaper player now. It's a win. You giving Lou all the passes is exactly why I just don't care what you have to say.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>coga16</b></div><div>The Ceci trade was a pretty big train wreck
That was more than fixing, back fired completely</div></div>
Not sure how.
One year of Ceci is much better than five years of Zaitsev, especially with the latter having a NTC kicking in.
Brown was expendable and having a 40 point season on the first line isn't earth shattering. Losing him and not having to worry about Zaitsev's cap hit this offseason is good.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>moli92</b></div><div>Kadri-Barrie trade was a complete loss for Dubas, no way around that

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>moli92</b></div><div>how is this classic dubas? this is one of the few trade "wins" he has as a GM</div></div>
Muzzin trade was great for the leafs. The Barrie kerfoot trade could have been better if Barrie didn’t suck so bad at hockey. But it was still a good move and a tough one on Dubas’ part. Kadri has to go and leafs needed to get back an rhd and a 3c. So think he did well in that respect.
Then making markeau disappear to sign marner. No one thought it could be done. But he convinced a gm to take his full cap hit and agree to buy him out.

When Marner breaks 100 points next year and is top 10 in league scoring, the fans will quickly be back on his bandwagon... and probably trashing whoever Dubas signs this summer!</div></div>
