save this team
It's a bad offer for Huby but it also frustrates me to see fans saying "save the team" and this is what they propose. Brisson is not a 4th line player. Getting Kessel over someone like Kolesar is also insane to me. There is a weird portion of the fanbase that hates him with a passion but he's cheap, physical, and has potential. If he could start finishing some of the chances he gets, he's gonna be a solid player. I know we're all upset over losing Patches but the Knights are still a very good team, even if they need a little more scoring.

i can see vegas doing this
I can't tell if this is a joke making fun of Vegas but just in case it's not, I'll explain why they would never do this. Both Patches and Fleury were on an expiring contract that cost 7 mil. Fleury was 36 and Patches is also on the older side. Patches has also had some serious injury issues, despite being great when he does play. Theodore has nothing in common with any of this. He's young, on a great contract and has term left.
If this is a meme, good meme very funny.

They have the cap space to sign everyone now. No need to choose between one or the other. Patrick, sadly, is going on LTIR by the way.

Find a d
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Theozler</b></div><div>Fair, I don’t necessarily hate the idea of moving Theodore as short term their d is still strong and he’s actually give them a good return. I may be overrating docker as I really like him, plus being a Vegas fan I do try not to be too much of a homer on here with deals so I don’t give them the moon back.Would docker, pinto, 1st, and a 2nd be better or still off too much you think?</div></div>
I'm a Knights fan too but I don't think it's a homer take to say you are way undervaluing Theodore. He's not only a great player, which he is, he is also on an excellent contract with term. If they trade him, which I think would be a terrible idea, it would have to be for a proven player, an excellent prospect, and a first. Again, though, his value relative to his contract would be crazy to give up. Martinez, although fetching much less of a return, would be the D to ship out. Karlsson, who is one of my favorite players, would also make a lot more sense than Theo, although I think he's going to have a bounce back season.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Theozler</b></div><div>What I mean is they don’t have many cost controlled players coming up through the system. While not in cap he’ll they still have hague and Roy to sign with no obvious replacements</div></div>
Brisson and Korczak are cost controlled players coming up through the system that could see some time soon. They also signed Mannanen, who is a league min that could put up some points. They have the space to sign Hague, Roy, and Kolesar.
They no longer need to move anyone to sign everyone they need to. Even if they did, Theodore would not be who they are selling without a monumental return. He is a star on a role players salary. I'm not saying they won't move anyone else for cap space, notably Karlsson or Martinez, but it won't be Theodore, especially not for anything close to this return.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Theozler</b></div><div>True but Theodore is better and can play right side. I know it’s never going to happen but it would be a good way to get some cost controlled players and picks. Both of which Vegas has really lost the last few years</div></div>
The only cost controlled player they lost was Tuch, which makes sense because it was for Eichel. Patches and Fleury were 7 mil each. Theodore is on one of the most valuable contracts in the league, exactly the kind of contract the Knights can't give up.
Also, after giving Patches up, which sucked, they are not in cap hell anymore.

Flames should blow it up
Vegas 100% declines. There is a chance Lehner misses the beginning of training camp but he'll be back for the season. Brossoit might be out for a little white but they have a good backup in Logan Thompson. Also, Stephenson is one of the best contacts on that team and they are not moving him. Martinez and, maybe, Karlsson are much more likely to be moved.

man you guys suck
Weird move to make the team a lot worse and then say it sucks.
I don't think the Knights trade Karlsson right now, especially not for a defenseman. His value is low and he has a decent chance to bounce back in the new system.
I can see them trading Martinez but they wouldn't take a defenseman back. There is already a logjam there with some decent prospects.
They also just resigned Howden to a 1 year deal so a buyout there would be bizarre.
I'd be shocked if they pick up someone like Nyquist. They might as well have kept Dadonov.

do something
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>notjackeichel</b></div><div>i agree to an extent but they absolutely need to replace that scoring and not bank on a team effort. the team overall needs to be better for sure but thats a huge load to ask especially for a team that was hampered by injuries. its tough but i thin they absolutely need to sign at least one of milano and rodrigues. like its not going over well not having any replacment for patches. by signing one of both the front office can at least show theyve got an idea for a replacement and the team as a unit might actually make the lose of patches sustainable.
its just losing the dude for nothing that kills. like not even a pick? come on</div></div>
I didn't love getting rid of him for nothing. I would much rather get rid of Martinez but I bet we would have to move picks out to get rid of him. With that cap situation, clearly, no team was willing to give anything for anyone. I'm just thinking about it like losing UFA. I would love Milano or Rodrigues. I'm also interested to see how Brisson does.
I'm also really exited to see the new system. That alone might increase the scoring. It looks like they are prioritizing speed and two way players. It could be possible that Patches wouldn't fit into the system as well.
I'm still hoping they can trade Martinez for a solid offensive player.

do something
I know the narrative is that Vegas is going down but this team looks incredible. Health permitting, that's an amazing D-core, a good goalie (again, health permitting), and a solid top 6 (despite Patches being missed). The bottom 6 is young with potential. I think there has been way too big of an overreaction to losing Patches. He's been really good when he plays but has been injured a lot the last two seasons.

vegas next year
Patrick might never play again, sadly. There's a good chance Brisson will gt the call up to take his spot.
Brossoit is also banged up and probably won't be ready for the start of the season. It might be hard to get rid of him until he's healthy.

Simple Fix
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AFox23</b></div><div>We'd have to move Georgiev for that to work. Or send Brossoit to Edmonton or New Jersey. Both need goalies. Just Krav+2nd for Smith is great with NYR.</div></div>
Totally agree. I can see you flipping Georgiev to Edmonton for a decent return and taking Bro as a throw in. That being said, there are many more options.
