<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DiehardRedWingsFan58</b></div><div>Name me one reason why Cirelli would leave a cup contending team in Tampa for the likes of the Rangers? First off the taxes are cheaper here in Florida and New York City has among the highest taxes in the world. So he'd make less there then here. Tampa is much closer to the cup then the Rangers. So yeah why would he leave Florida for New York.</div></div>

Ok, I’ll dance...

Panarin had the same opportunity to dodge taxes and go to Miami to a team projected to be better than the Rangers and he passed on it. You’re talking the like 5-8% taxes for NY and NYC. It’s not a life altering amount of money to pass on when you’re talking about millions of dollars per year these guys make. It matters to some, but not every player. I don’t believe you have any insight whatsoever as to Cirelli’s financial or economic beliefs or situation to have the right to tell us what he will choose.

Take Cirelli out of Tampa and tell me how much better Tampa is that the Rangers for the next 5-8 years. Stamkos and Hedman are on the wrong side of 30. They’ve run their organization thin with low draft picks and trading away picks. They still have good players in their system and have historically been a great drafting team but Yzerman is gone - is it a sure thing that will continue?

Cirelli could join a NY team on the upswing featuring a duo in Zibanejad and Panarin that is just as formidable as Kucherov and Point. Kakko, Kravstov, Lundkvist, DeAngelo, Fox, Trouba and Buchnevich all under 26 is a bright future - what’s Tampa’s future when this window closes? And how much longer does it stay open?

So don’t talk like you woke up in Gary Bettman’s underwear this morning. Have a little humility and consider another perspective before you pop off like you’re the only person sitting around with an internet connection and an opinion.
