I'm an OTT fan, so I was commenting based on other ACGM I've seen where people have tried to send Joseph to CGY. CGY is for sure going to trade players away, but they have people like Ruzicka, Coronato, Zary, Schwindt, and Pelletier who will all by vying for roster spots at/near league minimum. As a result, I don't think they'd want Joseph or have a need for him; especially when they have Dube who can fill that role at a cheaper price and Mangiapane as well.

Agreed I would like to see the Sens target one of Hart or Saros if they are available using assets they can get for the cat and then sign a couple middle six guys at 3M ish each

Could you explain why the Sens would do this?

Sens need a goaltender, and as their best goalie prospect, Mads is likely to make the jump to the NHL permanently this season or next. And he's cheap, which is important to the Sens based on approaching cap issues.

I just don't see why they do this for an AHLer. They have enough of those prospects.

Yeah, I don't like the idea of having 4 forwards earning ~8 million, especially with Chabot and eventually Sanderson + Chychyrun's next contracts, that could mean 56 million spent on 4 forwards and 3 D.

If we are trying to make the playoffs next year and beyond, we are so much closer to that goal by acquiring a goalie than with keeping DeBrincat and signing a UFA/pushing Sogaard too early.
