<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Subbanator7667</b></div><div>Not to pile on but the guys above are right. You don't have to like the fact that Guentzel wouldn't have been on the radar for Cutter but it is factual. You're also trying to diminish the value of a 21 year old top 5 pick because of one injury, not injury prone, just one injury. Personally don't think there's a single team that would trade Drysdale for Guentzel if their roster was youth focused and that is a key point that teams look at.</div></div>
In a vacuum I have no doubt in my mind that Guentzel holds more value than Drysdale, but, like we’ve all said, it all depends on the direction of a team when factoring the value of a player to their long term plans.
OP seems to insist that PHI could have simply flipped Guentzel for assets that better fit their timeline, but we all know that’s not how it works. This isn’t chel GM mode. Why would PHI take the extra step toward acquiring assets that fit their timeline just so PIT can have Gauthier? It just doesn’t make sense for a number of reasons.

Hello Philly
Walker -> Ask is roughly a 1st
Campbell -> Easily a 1st and a 2nd to dump
So a 3rd, 4th, Foegele and XB for TK with 25% retention is what the rest of that package looks like, which is a very long way away from what Philly would want for him.
Said it before and will say it again: EDM probably doesn't have what it takes to get TK. Bourque from Dallas, Willander from Vancouver, Morrow from Carolina, Edstrom from Vegas to name a few are all more enticing prospect/young player options than anything EDM would have to offer. Philly isn't going to move him without a young player or prospect with a top-6 Center upside or top-pair D upside, EDM just doesn't have that (or at least anyone with a realistic chance of achieving that)

I don't think Philly is shopping Konecny. Philly will probably qualify Hart since he is still an RFA and will decide what to do when the court has ruled on the case.

Flyers already have a lot of young goalies, so there's no need go spend a 1st on Knight when he seemingly isn't doing that well in the AHL.

Let sandstorm or Peterson play the remainder of the year. No point in trading for a goalie when we can sign one in the off-season. I do not want Hart back on this team rather see what we have before moving on.

Selling at the TDL
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tm0000</b></div><div>Why exactly would the Flyers be selling at the deadline? They're currently 2nd in the Metro. I mean, if the bottom falls out in the next few weeks, sure, go ahead and sell, but otherwise selling makes zero sense. They're not going to punt on a playoff run just to dump some old guys for mid-round picks. At least not without Torts' head exploding.</div></div>
Flyers currently have too many D and have to constantly play 7D in the lineup. They also can't lose the sight of bigger picture which is to rebuild. It's not like they are going to go into the playoffs and win the cup, they would be lucky to win a round. If they can get good assets for pending UFA's at the deadline they should 100% sell.

They still have a decent chance of making the playoffs even if they move Walker and Seeler. Plus they are likely to get better than a 3rd and 4th round picks.

TDL Must Dos
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NickCH79</b></div><div>Flyers are in a weird half-rebuild position, they aren't going to trade anything they don't have an abundance of, scoring forwards is one of those so I highly doubt Tippett is for sale unless the flyers fall off a cliff
Main pieces for Sale would be Seeler, Staal, Risto, Walker, and Laughton (probably). I'm fairly certain they won't sell anyone else. Also they Flyers would have too many goalies to take on Samsonov, at this point he'd be behind Hart, Ersson, Sandstrom and Petersen</div></div>
Agree, but its also about Tippett's demands as an RFA, and the return (a 1st, 2 3rds, a high prospect at a position of PHI need: Center, and a solid midlevel LW prospect). As far as Samsonov, he would never play, it would a pure dump to get back a 3rd and more because they have the cap space. Seems like a fairly good return based on the current depth of flyer forwards, but maybe not enough
I think Laughton also is a good shout to the leafs, but proabably just for a lesser package of 1st, Voit and Samsonov cap dump, but again maybe a bit light.

Draistl and MCD need new contracts and the Oilers should have no dead cap space wasted. Peterson contract will be over before Campbell.

Robertson doesn't come anywhere close to York's value.
No one cares about Robertson's junior stats from years ago.
He hasn't proven enough at the NHL level to match what York has done in his NHL career so far.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NickCH79</b></div><div>I definitely think Tippett would be available for the right price, However I don't think Barron would be the D they target since I don't think he's that ready for top 4, they'd want a young roster player, and Risto isn't getting traded with that contract so he'll be around for the next few years you'd either need to add a 2nd (and probably a 4th/5th) for it to be Tippett for Barron</div></div>
Barron is already playing top 4 in MTL, so he is ready for that
Yes, I would add COL 2024 2nd round pick or PIT 2025 2nd round pick + either SJ 2024 5th round pick or DET 2025 4th round pick for Owen Tippett

Gotcha. TBH I looked for a playoff team who needed PP help and Philly really stood out.
