Created by: sensonfire

Description
Here are some ways for answering the question:

1. Make Samuel Ersson the new starting goalie going forward.

2. Trade for another goalie or claim one off waivers if Cal Petersen isn't a good enough backup.

3. Do nothing and just wait for Carter Hart to come back into the lineup.

Flames have one Dan Vladar for you, he's terrible and I would move him for a lock of Gritty's hair but he seems like a really nice guy!

Who knows but, the timing of him leaving and the report this morning that London police have sent demands for 5 players to present themselves to be charged is one hell of a coincidence IMO

If I was Philly I'd be preparing for a long absence, gotta go get a more reliable guy to pair with Ersson

Let sandstorm or Peterson play the remainder of the year. No point in trading for a goalie when we can sign one in the off-season. I do not want Hart back on this team rather see what we have before moving on.

habs got Primeau, young but good stats so far this year or Allen, experienced and can shelter Ersson (though he dont look like he needs w his play this year ngl)

Yeah but giving up a 3rd rounder (any higher and I agree not worth it) to give the boys a chance to stay in the playoff race is worth it without ruining the rebuilding plan.
I don't think Sandstrom and Peterson send the right message to a group of players that are overachieving and playing some good hockey. Getting a solid #2 goalie sends a small vote of confidence from Management to the players like saying thank you for the hard work

I just think the goalie market is so ridiculously overpriced that any trade for a goalie would cost an arm and a leg. There is a reason why vladar, Allen, Primeau, Gibson, Copley, and so on, have not been moved yet, the price is so lucrative. Montreal was likely demanding a second-plus for Allen, and although that ship has sailed, is a good indicator it is not our best interest to move for a goalie. But I do agree with your sentiment, and is why I like the Drysdale acquisition given the situation.

True people are overpricing goalies but, if one becomes reasonable, I think it's a must make move

You stick with what you have....Errson is playing well and Peterson has had some success in the past. We have one of the best goalie prospect pools so there could be reinforcements coming in the future. They are not going to trade picks for a goalie, maybe if one goes on waivers they look there.

As far as Hart, I don't think his future with the Flyers was going to last past this year regardless of off ice situations. But we also need to remember that we don't know anything official yet regarding hockey Canada and everyone is innocent until proven guilty.

Honestly, don't trade for a goalie unless they are cheap, The flyers goaltending prospects have skyrocketed in the last couple years

Alexei Kolosov - KHL 0.904sv% (0.925 in last 4), 2.41GAA, 3 Shutouts, ELC already signed, supposed to turn pro next year
Yegor Zavragrin - VHL 0.953sv% (at this rate will break records in the VHL) 1.27GAA, 3 shutouts, 11-0-0 record - MHL 0.945sv% 1.63GAA 2 Shutouts, 6-1-2 record
Carson Bjarnason - WHL 0.901sv% 3.22GAA 1 Shutout 15-9-3 Record (stats don't look too good rn but he was ranked one of the top goalies in last years draft)

I really don't mind waiting for any of these guys especially with Kolosov in NA next year, Kolosov has the potential to be even better than Hart or Ersson, so for this season (baring any change in the current situation) I'd just stick with Ersson for starter and have one of Petersen or Sandstrom as the backup, unless you can get a decent backup for less than a 2nd
