That pick belongs to OTT, Detroit will have their own pick. They aren’t the team for Walker.

Edit: my mistake it’s 2025 1st. Still a decline from the Wings, but I assumed it was the 2024 BOS pick

Why exactly would the Flyers be selling at the deadline? They're currently 2nd in the Metro. I mean, if the bottom falls out in the next few weeks, sure, go ahead and sell, but otherwise selling makes zero sense. They're not going to punt on a playoff run just to dump some old guys for mid-round picks. At least not without Torts' head exploding.

Marc Staal is in future considerations territory. The guy is 37, has 2 points and averages like 12 mins of TOI when he isn't scratched.

MN easy decline.

probably because the gm said they'd be selling

we also have too many D-men torts thinks are nhl worthy sounds like a good thing but because of it they are running 11F and 7D all the time, it killed us this weekend, and most reports said they'd be surprised if Walker was here after the deadline

I do think this is selling too much though

Because it is the direction of management. PHI has never truly built for the future (at least in the last 2 decades). While they likely aren't going to go for a fire sale, most players on expiring contracts will go. Walker and Seeler are likely, because we currently have 8 defenseman on the roster. Staal might not go as he has little value, but for a mid round pick maybe. If the bottom falls out maybe Hart, Konency and others could become available.

I would think ownership would value selling more tickets in a playoff chase/playoff run than they would a couple of extra third and fourth round picks.

Flyers currently have too many D and have to constantly play 7D in the lineup. They also can't lose the sight of bigger picture which is to rebuild. It's not like they are going to go into the playoffs and win the cup, they would be lucky to win a round. If they can get good assets for pending UFA's at the deadline they should 100% sell.

They still have a decent chance of making the playoffs even if they move Walker and Seeler. Plus they are likely to get better than a 3rd and 4th round picks.

Walker is a 3rd pairing RHD in Detroit right now, There's absolutely no way you're getting a 1st round pick for him.

Does a few extra mid-round picks really move the needle on accelerating the rebuild?

Walker alone could get a 2nd or even a 1st at the deadline so I wouldn't say it's just few mid round picks. Also those picks could be used to trade for other young players. In a rebuild it's always a good idea to have a lot of draft capital.

Maybe. IDK. I have a hard time seeing any owner OK with losing out on potential playoff ticket sales and alienating fans to sell at the deadline with a team in 2nd place in the division. But I'm not a Flyers fan so I don't really know anything about their owner. Maybe he's a bonehead.
