Very likely not going to get better ?? (great analysis) But Brooks who's got 3-0-3 stats in 20+ AHL games is a stud , Byron 1 goals this year is awesome . Mantha is scum . Did i miss something else ?

The assesment on is only 25 (in 67 games) goals is ridiculous . The guy was 23-24 .. A young player ! Mantha is a young stud whether you like it or not . Look at Detroit fans reactions ! Did you see any Detroit fans come here to press the Yes button hard ? 12 goals this year ! Go on Nhl.com !

This guy is special ! 25 , goal scorer , Quebeker , These's guys are hard to get at those age ! Top 6 : Drouin-Domi-Mantha , Tatar-Danault-Gallagher . I give a lot i understand , but Detroit need an overpayment to give a guy like that in MY opinion .

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HabsForEver</b></div><div>You don't trade good prospects and picks to get a player that doesn't even fill any holes. Byron is a very good depth piece (our depth is what allows us to beat the giants in the NHL), Brook is one of our very few promising defensive prospects, Primeau is arguably the best goalie prospect in the world and will eventually allow Price to start 50-60 games so he will be well rested for the playoffs. Plus a 1st round pick for a draft we are hosting.
All for a winger who's never posted more than 25 goals in a season and has been fairly injury prone.</div></div>
You seem to love our prospect a lot , which is good . Mantha as 12 goals this year ... After a quarter of the season . On pace for ... i let you do that one ! Do a little research on him ! He would be our best forward .

Lafreniere and 19-20 deadline moves
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hellochris06</b></div><div>I like Bean or Haydn Fleury in that trade. Left side depth on the blue-line is starting to be questionable. I'd trade AA for a high-end center prospect as well as he's the oldest of the "core". Ideally Larkin is a 2C if we end up only getting Byfield or Lundell my feelings aren't going to be terribly hurt.</div></div>
I think the only clear cut future 1C of this draft is probably Byfield. Lundell seems a lot like another Larkin, in the sense that he is a very good defensive minded center, probably the best in the draft, but still has the capabilities obviously to be a great offensive guy. But probably not put up the 1C points of elite playoff teams. If we miss out on Lafreniere or Byfield and fall to 3rd or 4th, I'm picking Tim Stutzle out of the DEL. The kid has hands, speed, great hockey IQ, and is lighting up the DEL. Look him up or look into him more if you haven't really. I have woken up at 730 on Sunday's to watch his Adler Mannheim games and I'm telling you, the kid is legit. He plays wing over in the DEL but has played center before and has the skill set too. I think he is the only other player who can be an elite line driving center out of this draft. I've been saying this for a long time that I'm drafting him at 3, even when the early draft rankings had him at like 10-12. And now he's slowly inching his way closer, the highest I've seen him is 4th now. But I'm telling you, I would absolutely love to draft him at 3.

Don't get me wrong, I like Jost and Timmins, but Mo is key to our rebuild. We need something back that is just as key if not more key due to bust risk.

how the team will go this year
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>aedoran</b></div><div>When Cholowski was sent down last year it was because of his defensive play wasn't up to par. At some point this season he will come up to stay after 52 games he has a good idea of what he needs to do to be a full time NHL defenseman and with the amount of defenseman the Wings have right now there isn't a need to rush him along. I think Svech starts the season in Detroit it's been a rough couple of years for him. I think they made a mistake by not bringing him up for more games a couple of years ago and then he blew out his knee last season. He never let it bring him down or complained about it he just said he needed to work harder and thats what he did with a smile on his face. That's why I really think the Wings are going to give him every opportunity to succeed. Even if he doesn't play up to the player he was when drafted you have to love his attitude and work ethic.</div></div>
For svech's development he is better playing on the top line in GR then playing 5-10 mins a game in the NHL he still need time especially after the injury. yea he has a great work ethic but that doesn't mean they should have him play in the N for that. being wavier exempt, they can easily call him up and down as they wish. Again I could see him coming up near the end of the year or if an injury occurs. but he wont start in the NHL he can play along side Veleno and really get his game developed.

Gudas played #4 minutes last year, and was 2nd in penalty killing time. That's not exactly bottom pair stuff. He's a career plus eleven, and Ceci is -60. There is no way on Earth they get swapped for each other without Marner being included. :)

Make offers on Marner READ DESCRIPTION
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jamiepo</b></div><div>I tried this one already.... mitch’s Value is very low without a contract.</div></div>
But you didn't say what you needed. Spaghetti did:
"I want:
A replacement for Marner (solid top 6 guy, gritty players would be preferred)(Anderson, ECT)
A solid defensive right handed defenseman on a good contract (Manson, ECT)
A backup that can play 20+ games (Georgiev, ECT)"
Here we go, from Washington:
Oshie (one less goal than Marner last year, in a dozen fewer games. The assists will catch up, if he plays with Tavares), Gudas (200 hits and 20 points at RHD for 2.5M), Copley (tied with Quick for 36th in wins), all for rights to Mitch Marner, and AHLer Jeremy Bracco. The deal hinges on Bracco to play 2R in Washington until cap space opens up to actually make Marner a contract offer. In the meantime, Washington will be vulnerable to offersheets in the 1st 2nd and 3rd round pick range, and they can live with that. Oshie would have to waive, but Toronto seems like a pretty good team, these days. Is that good, or should they throw in Lucas Johansen?

The Wild offer Victor Rask, Nate Prosser when they make their annual waiver claim for him, and a conditional 7th round pick that gets upgraded to a 6th if Marner signs a contract in time to play a game in October. Rask is the portrait of gritty, unless he's going up against a kitchen knife. You'll love him, I promise.

I think the problem with this demand is that there are only a few teams that can actually give you what you want and those teams may not even be in the position to make this trade.
I think the only trade scenario that happens is one that DOESN'T fix all your problems and puts a nice bow on it. That's why its imperative that Marner is signed. That's where the value is best. Not in trade.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BigDog91</b></div><div>Yeah I don’t think mantha is a stud. Risto scores more points, plays much tougher and valuable position, signed long term. I think Detroit fans overvalue aa and mantha</div></div>
The only problem Detroit has no interest in Risto. Detroit was unwilling to give up Mantha or AA for Trouba a real 2 way defensemen who has been on their radar since he held out. You're right Detroit fans do overvalue Mantha and AA sometimes me included. About the same as Buffalo fans overvalue Risto, Thompson and Mittlelstadt. I think you'd agree Trouba is better than Risto and Detroit trading Risto instead Trouba makes no sense. Smith is what the 4th best left wing prospect in Buffalo's organization. Girgensons is a good role player 3rd or 4th line but Detroit has Helm, Abdelkader, Glendening, DLR, Ehn and now Erne as well that fill that role as well and most of the better than Girgensons.
Eklund is a clown shoe and almost never right. Now did you read that article/blog entry that mentions the same trade? Because his source is Eklund so that link does nothing to support Eklund's rumor. If you scroll down they included a post from NHL Trade Rumors:
Multiple reports earlier this summer have included how RHD Rasmus Ristolainen would prefer to play elsewhere than Buffalo this season and it’s becoming more clear he may get his wish. According to sources the Sabres have held preliminary discussions with several teams including the Detroit Red Wings. Detroit would be willing to part with Anthony Mantha to obtain the 6’4 24-year-old Finnish defenseman. Mantha finished last season with 25 goals and would provide Buffalo some much needed offense.
The source is the Sabers nothing from Detroit about it at all. It looks like wishful thinking on the Sabers part. Risto is a middle pair defensemen at best and most of the lines I've seen on proposals done by Sabers fans where they keep Risto back up my claim.
