Okay. Thanks for your feedback.
30 goal scorers under 6M aren't too easy to get, this summer. Toronto got a whole lot for one. They might know what they're worth. Oshie was on pace for his second 30 goal season in three years last year, but missed a dozen games. In the intervening year he played 3R, and focused on playmaking and checking, getting Lars Eller to career highs of 18 goals and 38 points.
90 point players are usually rare, except that with new goalie equipment last year, there were three times as many as the average from the previous ten years, so basically treat Marner as an 80 point player from any other recent year... except that he played 2nd line, facing not-super-tough competition, and played with Tavares, one of the best goal scorers in the league. So I think we're down to offering whatever you'd trade for a 22 year old who got 20 goals and 60 points, on most teams, most years. In that case, a 30 goal scorer locked up on a cheaper contract, plus a couple depth players, and a prospect? Not so bad. Add in the challenging contract negotiation with an agent who appears to think he's representing McDavid, and the bitterness with a team that just somehow paid Matthews like he's McDavid, but is angry that this somehow increased the RFA salary structure... and I doubt irl Washington even bids that high, or that irl Tor wants that much.
More interesting to bid on a struggling asset like Nylander, anyway.
Oshie is 32, and had some injury issues already.
Yes his cap hit is decent but he is a declining player moving forward, barley a 60 point player.
Gudas would have been nice before adding Ceci and Barrie, now, not so much.
Copley? Meh, dont care.
Johansen is LHD on his last year of his ELEC, not gonna lie didnt know he even existed before you mentioned.
Could he be good? Sure, maybe, will he be right now? I'd say no.
And you asked for Marner and Bracco for this.
