Dahlin didn’t “break out” until his 5th season in the league
Power just finished his SECOND season
Maybe we should just give the kid a bit more time to develop???

Would rather keep Jenner, Jiricek, and the 1st. Jackets really don't need to have nearly $18M tied up on the left side next season when they have Mateychuk coming. Not to mention the giant hole trading away Jiricek puts in their future top 4 on the right side.

I'd rather have the Sharks side. KJ might still work out, but the Sharks pick is almost guaranteed top 3 and their 2025 pick might be real high too.

Potential blockbuster draft trade
That's a spicy take. I don't know how trading the guy who's probably next in line to be captain, fits the timeline, is clearly the best defenseman on the roster (and likely franchise history), and on many nights is the team's best player, does you any good. That's a player you change the team play style for, not one you ship out because he doesn't fit the team's style.
Honestly, it makes about as much sense as...Detroit moving Larkin to Columbus.

Potential blockbuster draft trade
Werenski is the best player on the jackets when healthy and it’s not really close. Neither of those guys have the ceiling to be what werenski is. He’s still young enough that he will still be good when the jackets are ready to compete so there’s no need to trade him.

New Era
Frankly I think Zegras-for-KJ is at best a lateral move, so adding even more assets on top is a bad idea. And you're potentially rushing Mateychuk and Jiricek both. And Brannstrom is an excellent example of the sort of blueliner we don't need.

JT isn’t going anywhere; that’s the risk & downside of long term deals. But then you sign Pesce to that deal 🤦🏻, too much term & $. How about we see how team settles in and performs in playoffs before panic overreaction

If Lindstrom is available at 4, CBJ are probably taking him.
If not, I could see them moving back a few spots, considering how most of the top prospects are D. With Z, Jiricek, and Dents, they top end of our blue-line is likely set for the near-term future. If they can still grab a Catton or Demidov, I’d do it.

Probably a good prospect deserves to go the other way since the pick will be 28-32 if Vej can play well behind a good team vs last 2 years with Zona

He's not expensive but helps get to the cap floor with another professional vet player.

Fair assessment for Kampf, but he's a pure cap dump from the Hawks perspective. They don't need to add any more bottom 6 forwards. They have 4 under contract already for next year, 5 unsigned RFA's they can bring back, plus Dach and Slaggert who may compete for roster spots in training camp. Hawks need a top 6 forward to either play w/ Bedard or center the 2nd line. Can't see any reason the Hawks would put much positive value on Kampf.

Insulting. CBJ don’t even pause to laugh before hanging up. Do you really think they’d give up their Captain for a Swede who’s been out of the league for 5 years and a 2nd?

Jenner

Quoting: KingExLeafs

For the right price he will be.

Yeah but that price is astronomical, like "your GM gets fired" astronomical. Few players are as sought after right now, AND he's a center, AND he plays a unique game, AND he's on a great deal with term, AND he's having a good season on a terrible team (all-star, whatever that means), AND it's been explicitly stated by ownership, temp-GM, and player that he's completely off the market.
It's not worth anyone's time. I mean, your offer is one of the better one's I've seen on here in a while and it's still at least a 1st short (assuming you remove Gudbranson and Liljegren).
If I had to hazard a guess, the price for Toronto to pry him loose and beat out teams like Colorado and Boston that would do unspeakable things to get a 2C like Jenner right now, would be:
TOR: Jenner
CBJ: 2024 TOR 1st, 2026 TOR 1st, 2024 NYI 3rd, and Cowan.
In general, a couple late 1sts, a mid-rounder, and one of your top prospects. Anything short of that, Davidson yawns and hangs up.

And this surely is not the right price. Needs to be a whole lot more; his worth to Columbus is way past what he brings on the ice. The correct price for Jenner is "so much that your team will feel a lot of pain giving it up".
