New Era

Description
If the new GM is aggressive, then he could make some possibly unpopular moves but necessary moves. The Anaheim deal is intriguing as they move Zegras but get a slew of high talent while moving up higher in the draft and into the top 10. The Jackets are a team looking to secure a top 6 long term. Zegras whether he plays C or on the W, really helps create a lot more depth and high end talent in the top 6. Brannstrom is a decent defender and I think could be a perfect fit with Severson. Jiricek needs to play with Z. I think him playing crucial role in Cleveland this year will springboard him to the top 2 next season. Ullmark is likely going to be moved by Boston this offseason. I think the Jackets may have to buy out Elvis. He clearly is not the answer and his buy out is not crippling so it is time to cut bait. Ullmark has only 1year left and would be a low risk high reward move. The Jackets have cap space so being able to absorb all of Ullmark’s contract is very appealing to Boston.

Boston passes, they should have no trouble moving the money on Ullmark's deal while still getting a better return

Frankly I think Zegras-for-KJ is at best a lateral move, so adding even more assets on top is a bad idea. And you're potentially rushing Mateychuk and Jiricek both. And Brannstrom is an excellent example of the sort of blueliner we don't need.

Personally, I really like Brannstrom and he has been real good recently so I wouldn't move him for Boqvist.

I'm not remotely convinced that Boqvist has more value than Branny
