That second round pick does you nothing when your first defenseman goes down with injury in the playoffs.

No, no they do not. A 23 year old who has had 13 head injury’s, let’s just assume all from playing check hockey which only started for him 10-11 years ago. Let’s make it easy and say he’s been playing check hockey for 13 years. 1 concision a year doesn’t sound like somebody injury prone? For his age 3 concussions is a lot, and it appears that 2 of his 3 known concussions have held him out for significant time.

He just turned 23, what he is is undetermined. This makes the team worse in my opinion.</div></div>
This is head injury #3 at only 23 years old

Urho is a poor man’s Grzelcyk, yes he was playing well, but he’s a failed 1st round pick who doesn’t play tough. And is injury prone on top of that

I would say he’s your number 4. Exceptional penalty killer, Middleton is an upgrade over Forbort, maybe not an upgrade over Reilly but like you said a different style of play. And Middleton style will IMO get you further in the playoffs than Reilly’s will. Boston is as skilled, or just behind as skilled as every other team in the East. They need to be tougher and more physical against these teams in order to steal a series. A team could win the cup with Middleton as your number 4

Yes and he’s the best Defenseman out of those names, so long story short Bostons D corp is weak

Grizz, Reilly, Forbort, Urho, Achan already there and Lohrei not to far off. Bottom pair LD is not a need going into next year.</div></div>
Matt Grzelcyzk is the only one on this group that has any sort of value. Cassidy said it, the D core is soft. You can not win a cup with any of these guys as your top pair LD. You might not even be able to do it with Grezelcyk as your 2nd pair LD. Forbort is the only one with size and he hardly uses it. They’re not giving up DeBrusk for Middleton but they need to bring in some size back there and ship out anybody under 6’ tall

lol no you're not. There's nobody on the Rangers you could trade to Boston and get McAvoy. He's 20, hes as good now maybe better than Mcdonagh and costs way less. There's also nobody on the Rangers you could trade to Boston that could fetch DeBrusk or Heinen + 2 1st round picks. Mcdonagh may require a little more than what I put up but its not far off. Zboril is a 13th overall pick and Bjork is a very promising LW

What Boston could have been
well if you want to keep Dougie Hamilton, you don't get JFK. and likewise with Lucic. if he stays you never got Martin Jones from LA only to send him to SJS for a 1st and Sean Kuraly. you also wouldnt have the following Prospects. Trent Frederic, JFK, Jeremy Lazoun, Zach Senyshyn, or Jakub Zboril. Matt Bartkowski is garbage. and an AHL defensemen.

As the cap goes up so do the cap hits. McAvoy is the -of this rebuild and will be a top 5 defenseman in the league sooner than later.

That's understandable, nobody is going to fill the shoes of Bergeron I don't think but you never know. The good thing is they have started to load up prospects to push for that spot. I really like Frederic and JFK. I think Studnicka has some upside but still has a ways to go. Boston is really loading up the prospect pool at every position.

Potential Bruins Roster - Pastrnak Signed at 8.5
i know that Pastrnak and Leon have similar numbers. and his contract wont be far off for Leon, but you have to consider some things here. one is the whole Peter Chiarelli factor in all of this, and the other is that Leon is a center and Pastrnak is a wing. naturally those guys get a little more dough in their deals rightfully so but its not much. I think Boston could get Pastrnak on a 7 year 7-7.5 AAV deal and that would be fair.

Trading for Pasta
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Alex_Hancock</b></div><div>Absolute no from the Oilers, $1,000,000 in cap savings, a pick and prospect isn't worth downgrading from Drai to Pasta.</div></div>
this has to be the biggest over payment of any Pastrnak trade I have seen on this site yet. three first round picks since 2014. one of them has already turned out to be a horse and Zboril is projecting to be a top pairing left hand shot. why not just throw in another first of good measure?? I wouldn't do Pastrnak for Leon straight up. Boston needs young wing help they have plenty of prospects for the middle of the ice. I do know one thing for certain is that if somehow Boston does get Leon, that David Krejci is gone. you put a top 3 center iceman in the NHL on the Left wing and hes a right shot. your account should be suspended.
