Pens - Ducks MegaDeal - Enough
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Lenny7</b></div><div>Cheers. I get the "Gibby to Pittsburgh" thing, because he's from Pitt, but I just don't think the Pens have the type of pieces that Anaheim would need to be getting back.</div></div>
Yeah I agree. I also am not 100% sold on the fact that Jarry can't be the guy for us. The Isles may just have been the better team as we see they are in the finals and up 1-0 in series. What I really want is what I said in previous post. The Pens have technically three Jake's in Zucker/MCann/Jake on the LW. I want a change up on the wings which might mean moving Jake or Zucker. I like the idea of one of them in the expansion draft but we will protect Jake due to higher trade value. I also am not a big fan of UFA's out there this year.

I saw the Kings wanted a top six winger but I don't know if the package we could get from them really helps our team get bigger. I'm ok moving Jake (post expansion draft) if we can acquire a gritty skilled guy. Kind of similar to the Hornqvist for Neal move couple years back. We had too many skilled guys like Neal and no Patric's so it worked out. What I don't want though is to trade Jake than in exp. draft lose MCann cause than our LW is super weak.

Ok fair enough. Thanks for the Ducks perspective on this one.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Lenny7</b></div><div>Why would the Ducks do this?</div></div>
Just thinking out loud. This wouldn't be the final package as pieces would need to be added. Thoughts here though are Ducks get a proven winger in Jake and younger goalie (since they are rebuilding/younger) and Pens get proven goalie and a younger winger.

Amd what happens to ZAR. We just let him walk??
I wouldn’t mind a 2nd line of Poulin/Geno/Kappy.
And 3rd line of McCann/Carter/Simmons.
And 4th line of ZAR/Blueger/Tanev.
Pens resign Gaudreau too.</div></div>
I just don't know if the team above you mention is "tough" enough.
Pens need some gritty guys.

Malkin Pulls a Kucherov
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>pharrow</b></div><div>it's easy, you make the cap count for the playoffs and TB is screwed. Which is how it should have been.
As far as this post. Fake NEWS.
No one knows anything about that injury because no one that does is talking. It will be a long time before anything comes out on that. As is, all we know is surgery went well. You'll know exactly what he had done by how quick he's walking on it.
It's most likely a meniscus. As it involved him twisting on his knee on that hit. That's a tell tale sign. Very rarely is a guy damaging a tendon on that kind of play. A ligament maybe, but that isn't gonna stop a guy from playing, only show him down a year.</div></div>
I'd be ok with that as well as Malkin is who I prefer to have.

100% agree with you but how do you enforce it? I know Kucherov was def. hurt with a shoulder which can be tricky, but did he have to miss the whole season?
Maybe you enforce a rule where player has to play x games to qualify for the playoffs?

I would be ok with a Miles Wood for MCann swap. With the Raffl one I just tied him to Hextall and I know he plays on edge.
The hardest item for me is filling the 2LW void after Zucker goes to Seattle.

Agreed and I believe due to having him for one more year which also aligns with Letang/Geno having one more year you run it back.
Let Seattle take someone expensive like Zucker or MP and use that cap to "add" grit and be ready to beat Isles next season.

100% we can. The question is who...seems to be the question to this mystery lately. I would be completely ok if we made one trade to do the above and call it day. Wouldn't cost much to give up ideally either.

So my thoughts on Bennett is if we sacrifice a pick Calgary has to hold salary...I imagine they'd rather not so what young forward can we give up? Don't say Poulin or Leagere either cause he has wanted out of Cal all year and he is a UFA post this season.
The Rikkola trade is so the man can actually play in a game. He has the talent just too much depth on Pens and POJ jumps him.
The MP for Foligno trade...I'm not sure what exactly CBJ wants. I figured a DP with term may help them..maybe Zucker instead?
