Fair? Hahaha. No, they would be stupid to accept that.
Boeser, despite having a bad year, still played on a 0.74 PPG pace. He is mad talented, and you can try and pretend otherwise to make his value lower for joke trades like this, but it's not going to fly. Rathbone is still a solid prospect, though his value has fallen. Those two players alone are getting at least a 2nd and a 3rd. Myers has one year left, and after his bonus is paid, is only owed 1 mil in real money. Canucks would keep rather keep him, then pay some stupid price for 1 year of cap relief.
Awful trade. Maybe next time do some research and you could come to that conclusion yourself. Pens fans really are a special breed.

I'd rather keep Pettersson. Liljegren is cool, though. Maybe a deal could be worked out there.

The Vancouver trade is one of the funniest I've ever seen. Allvin pisses himself laughing as he hangs up on the Ducks. Zegras or Drysdale need to be in any Pettersson trade, plus plus plus.

Dubois willing to go to other teams
Solid trade for the Canucks. They lose some offence, but save almost 3 mil in cap space, and considering we were playing Garland mostly on the third line, I'd rather have the 3 mil in cap space and less production than pay a guy 5 mill to be in the bottom 6. Maybe you could downgrade the 2nd to a 3rd? So Garland and a 3rd for Appleton? Because Garland isn't a bad player, we just need cap space more than we need him.

Bruh. First and foremost. You're smoking something good if you think you get Hughes without AT LEAST one first and a top prospect. Secondly, if he was really willing to sign for 4 mil AAV, the Canucks would have signed him months ago.

What I would like to happen
You can want that all you want, Canucks would laugh in your face, however. They already have their left side set with Hughes, OEL and Rathbone and, as such, have ZERO need for an unsigned and underwhelming Morgan Rielly. And we especially don't have any interest in him when you want Miller coming back who put up 70 points two years ago, was on pace for 70 again this year, can play both wing and center (and is actually really dominant in the faceoff circle) plays a never-relenting PWF style of hockey and is one of the most passionate and determined to win players I have honestly ever seen.
Long story short. If you want Miller, you're adding a first and a high-end prospect to that trade. Minimum.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>hawksfan1988</b></div><div>What they get for Schmidt ? .. a 3rd rounder… so much for that 1st … hmm who’s the ABSOLUTE CLOWN ??
Looks like a cap dump to me .
Before the Schmidt trade Canucks have 9 forwards , 4 dman and 1 goalie signed for next year.
Before the trade Canucks had $23,639,351 including Ferland on LTIR
IF Pettersson and Hughes each take $9m and Dickinson takes $3,500,000 as you put it .. that’s 21,500,000.
Leaves the Canucks with $2,139,351 and have to still sign 3 dman, 2-3 forward and backup goalie …
So yeah, I’d say Schmidt is a cap dump …</div></div>
Damn, took you long enough to respond. Had to try and think of something to say, eh?
Who cares what they got for Schmidt? We got back what we paid for him so essentially we got a free year of Schmidt, how is that bad? LOL. Well, I guess for a clown like you who can't think ahead it might seem bad.
I don't know why you're talking about before Schmidt as he's gone now and thus such discussion is worthless. I'm also not sure where you're getting 2.1 mil from, this seems like pretty basic math. I'll work it out for you though. We had 20 mil before the Schmidt trade. Now after trading Schmidt we can add 6 mil to that. Now we have 26 mil. Are you following along? Now, after adding Ferland to LTIR we get to add another 3.5 to that 26 which gives us around 29.5 mil to work with. Make sense?
If we sign Petey and Hughes for 9 mil each, and Dickinson for 3.5 (which we won't because they aren't worth that yet, at all. They have more to prove) As we went over earlier, that would equal 21.5 mil.
29.5 mil - 21.5 mil = 8. You get it? C'mon now, this is basic math.
* Quick side note. I'm also still not sure where you're getting that we have to sign 3 defencemen? We have Hughes, OEL, Myers and Rathbone which equals 4, and last time I checked, only 6 D can be on the roster at one time... LOL absolute clown. If you're going to talk about a team, at least look at their roster beforehand so you can have a clue what you're talking about.
Also not sure where you're getting 2-3 forwards from. Our current lines are:
Miller-Petey-Boes
Hog-Horvat-Garland
Pearson-Dicky-Podz
Motte-TBD-Mac/Highmore
Only one hole to fill there bud. Again. If you're going to talk about a team, at least look at their roster beforehand so you can have a clue what you're talking about.
Anyways, to continue. After overpaying Petey, Hughes and Dicky, we still have 8 mil to sign ONE 4th line center. TWO low-end RHD, not three lmao. And ONE backup goalie.
We're more than fine, thanks.
Absolute. Clown. You are genuinely one of the slowest people I've talked to in a long time. Stay the hell out of my notifications with your goofy a**, I'm done wasting my time on you.

Yeah, we honestly have a lot more cap space than anyone wants to give us credit for. We can easily sign everyone, fill out the holes on our roster and get depth for injury insurance. With our current team, we have arguably the best forward core in the Pacific Division and a starting goalie who has proven he can not only win 40 games but put on elite performances and steal games for us. Our only question mark is defence, and do we really think our D core will be worse than it was the previous year? I don't think so. It has to improve just because of how awful it was this last season.
I'm really not worried about the Canucks.

Exactly. I'm honestly not bothered about it. Would it have been nice to get more? Sure. But we didn't lose anything, instead we gained cap space which is always helpful.

Dude. That Canucks trade has to be a troll... right? Please tell me it's a troll. Rielly is, at most, worth a late first, yet you want that, a Second AND Hoglander who has more value than Rielly too?! Like what are you smoking my guy? And that's ignoring the fact that the Canucks already have 4 LHD, we definitely don't want Toronto's reject, as well.
In all honesty, I could see Woo for Rielly straight up, but any more than that just isn't worth it. You need to re-evaluate. That or just leave the Canucks out of your future proposals 'cause that was brutal.

Oh, the Canucks need to shed cap space for Hughes and Pettersson do they? Oh... that's interesting... what about the 20 mil we have right now even after signing Garland to a 5 mil AAV extension..? What about the extra 3 mil we get for putting Ferland on LTIR..? Interesting... let's overpay here and do some math. Let's say Pettersson and Huges get 9 mil each, that's 18, then let's say 3.5 for Dickinson, now we're up to 21.5... wait a minute... 21.5? that's under our 23 million total cap limit? But I thought you said we needed cap space? I just overpaid all three players and still fit them under our cap..?

I like the Canucks trade, though I feel they would want a pick in there, maybe a 2nd or 3rd. Nylander hasn't been great and doesn't have massive value, and Delia highest SV% in the NHL was .908 a couple of years back, so I'm not sure how confident I'd be with him as the backup, especially since Chicago didn't even use him this year. As for Ferland, it's nice to have him gone, but considering he on permanent LTIR, he isn't really a cap dump and thus doesn't have much value either way.
TL:DR - Good base for a trade. Canucks need a little more value coming their way.
