Clifford to Caps tdl
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>markykins1</b></div><div>Why are you creamin' your jeans over a 4th line rental?</div></div>
Because Clifford has more value to the Kings than anything a team would offer. He should not be traded. He is only 28. If Blake trades him it just adds to his stupidity as a GM. However if he does, he is worth a 3rd round pick at least.

At the end of the day the rumored return is a 2nd round pick to START. Fact. Do research then come back. A 2nd round pick means close to nothing to a contender especially when it's essentially an early 3rd round pick. Probably a 5 pick difference. The way Kovalchuk is playing he is worth a 2nd and if he continues to play that way or better his value will go up. Very affordable player to cap strapped contenders. Life experience and common sense.

If you don't think that a team's star player has any pull when it comes to signing, or not signing, someone, then you really do need a lot more life experience.</div></div>
When you have no facts and resort to insults. Classic! Love it.

Honestly I watched the MTL CBJ game today. All the guy does is cherry pick. He doesn't play defense. You can't win games with guys like that especially in the playoffs.</div></div>
You just described some of the best players to play the game.

The Jumpin Crickets line and Ovechkin is not a general manager and that's not how the hockey business works. And if it did, GM could have said we'll wait until he signs and see what his contract is like and how he does until the deadline.

Sadly people will complain about him getting resigned at league minimum regardless if he's putting up points consistently. I agree he has another year or two in the NHL.

Kupari, Fagemo, Luff, and Vilardi all play RW(Vilardi will most likely play RW in the NHL)
On the right side of defense Clague(plays both sides) Walker, Roy, and Durzi. The truth is, as good as there prospect base is they only have a few quality kids in each position. Mainly RW, LW, RD, and LD.

I know the Kings prospect pool very well and I can tell you the only quality prospects at LD are Anderson, Bjornfot, and Clague(who can play both left side and right side)
Brickley sucks and Phillips will probably never make the NHL.
As far as Bjornfot goes he will most likely make the NHL next season so that leaves one spot open for another player to develop.

da cup
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TheEarthmaster</b></div><div>True but we've got cap decisions to make in the offseason anyway, Palmieri wouldn't overtly challenge that. Pietrangelo hasn't been re-signed- maybe he walks and there's a bunch of money for Palmieri there. Maybe we trade Allen or Bozak, or maybe Palmieri isn't a great fit and we trade him in the offseason anyway (which, if we did this, is what we should do). Or maybe they retain salary, but that'll likely drive the price up.
This is also very true</div></div>
How does Palmieri not affect that? Petro will be resigned and they already have to trade guys like Allen, Steen, Bozak, etc. (Not all of them, but I'm sure you get the point)
Not only do they have to resign Petro, but Dunn as well. Also a backup replacement if Allen is traded via UFA. Bouwmeester may not retire yet and might be resigned around 1M. You have to keep in mind the salary increases for Faulk and Schenn. Having NJD retain at least 2M in this deal would help matters significantly. I honestly believe Saad would be a better fit than Palmieri while being retained, but that's just my opinion.

Palmieri has 2 years left. They don't need his salary retained this year, but certainly will next year.

Oh okay sure because Sergachev has proven to be worth a lottery pick? Lmao get a clue. In theory he COULD BE if he were put in the top 6. Bolts can't afford to resign him and they can't keep playing him on the 3rd pair. He will want a trade eventually. Considering the Wings 2021 1st could be just as good as this year's I think it is fair. Maybe another pick or prospect.
