My Favorite Player on each team
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>wabit</b></div><div>Was JEE just a random Wild player because you forgot they were a team? A big fan of his when he was in the SHL? You related to him? You think he has a cool name?
I'm really curious on how/why you chose him over the rest of the Wild team.</div></div>
I like to "watch film" a couple of months into the season to watch draft eligible players and get my personal opinion on them. JEE stood out to me in the SHL (same with Linus Olund.) I'm also a fan of Swedish players in general, like Nik Lidstrom when he played. I don't get to watch the Wild often so it's hard to have a favorite on their team.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>As suggested above, it far too risky trade for Montreal dangling that first. Changed the title to deadline deal to imply the idea of a playoff spot. The idea by Montreal is not just this year but in the future as well. One can only assume they owuld improve with Duchene and could add pieces in the off-season but then I remembee Ottawa and Edmonton...

In my mind it would be in either two scenarios: Trade deadline where Montreal is in a playoff spot. They should say yes to the deal. Or at the end of this month or next month of they keep rolling or are fringe. But to make it easier for anyone viewing, I have the deal being made anytime soon. In that case, it is too risky for MTL to trade their first.

Definitely. I doubt he would want to play in Calgary but I figured it would be cool to try with Calgary. Maybe if they offered him way more money who knows. Thanks

Andersson and Valimaki are interchangable. Columbus may value a center more over a gritty winger in Tkachuk. Fair point though

That's why I did too much. Brouwer was needed for salary cap reasons so I over extended.

That's why I was hoping to get away with a good player in Rust and a good goalie prospect in Jarry. Instead of a guaranteed first, I threw in two picks with one being conditional to become a first. I tried :s

Agreed. My issue when coming up with the deal was trying to figure out how and why Ottawa would retain salary. The only way is to give up more prospects but why would Ottawa even bother when a CBJ or the Preds can offer better with no retained salary...

Hagelin is doing glorious things for Malkin right now. Points aren't everything. The Pens know this. They just won back to back cups with guys who got few points. Hagelin is valuable to Pittsburgh. Kane would be a minor "upgrade" and wouldn't even be in the top 6. Not worth the price...

Plekanec/Grabner?
Plekanec deal isn't bad. Might as well not trade Sheary if they're going to get Grabner. Wingers are not needed right now in Pitt and I wouldn't be mad if we acquired Grabner but it's a waste of whatever value Sheary has both on the market AND in the locker room...

Worst Contract on Every NHL Team
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Blynasty</b></div><div>Hagelin has been playing really well and during his current contract was apart of 2 cups wins and was a humongous factor as part of the HBK line in the 2016 win.
I would say Hunwick is the worst contract. He is currently the 7th defenseman and was not apart of the Cup wins.</div></div>
Can't like this comment enough. Hagelin opens up space on the ice for Geno. The way he's been playing is valuable and if he can tap into what he did in the 2016 cup run, he will be worth all $4 million. Also his contract is only two years.
Hunwick is a 7th D (yes he is injured rn.) If we didn't pay him that contract, he would be the 8th D as Ruwhedel has been a great fill-in.

How to Fix This if Tavares Wants to Explore FA Before Deadline
All of this is solid to me. Maybe could of got more for Bailey (I saw your reply to someone as to why,) and tbh if the Islanders can do all this moves except for the JT move, then <strong>Kovalchuk could be interested in playing with JT and vice versa. Great job</strong> :cheers
