Get Larkin a partner at C
Stick with the plan. Develop players internally. I feel for Larkin, but that's how it goes sometimes. He'll be the hero if he sticks it out with DET.

I like the idea for sure. Logic would say the Wings have to get a strong second center sooner or later. But what do I know, the Blackhawks won 3 Cups with Toews and not much else at center,

This ACGM is set 2 years in the future... again, I know you just absolutely NEED to say the Wild say no on every post, but try reading next time.

Manage the dead cap
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CAPDumba</b></div><div>Greenway is worth more than this. Wild doesn't need to move fiala, and can use him in a trade for top 6c</div></div>
Greenway might be worth more in the right situation, but the picks in this ACGM are a safe guess. Maybe they get a late 1st instead of a 2nd but that's not worth arguing about. I know this goes against your trolling brand in saying the Wild don't need whatever moves are made involving them though. lol
They need to move someone and Fiala stands a good chance of being that guy. The contracts in the ACGM above don't really have any obvious ridiculous overpayments so how do you fit in Fiala with $4.1m in cap (which will likely be a $1m more if the cap goes up $1m per season the next years)? There is no chance Guerin can ice the same roster without either players taking a huge paycut or someone getting out. NTC and NMC limit the options.

Yep, the Wings could go that way. But maybe they would get much more value signing a UFA for 9Mm and keeping the 1st rounder and Edvinsson.

No thanks rather keep Edvinsson over Sergachev. And FYI doesn't matter if Jonatan Berggren burns a year off his ELC as his contract no longer slides due to him being 21 years of age.

Manage the cap and get Eichel
A surprisingly good ACGM. I don't agree with all the values here, but great job on breaking down your thoughts and reasonings for these moves. This is an elite-level ACGM compared to most of the Eichel-trades.

I'd make the 1st round pick Lottery protected. The surgery JE needs will basically keep him out the entire year if not more. That leaves us with basically the same roster as we had last year but against the full might of the Atlantic Division.</div></div>
The Sens were looking solid in the back half of last season but protection would be nice obviously. Maybe top 10 protection or something.

I dont see this as an overpay. Colin White is a cap dump.
Brannstrom, Thomson and Pinto are good prospects. 2022 1st will probably be a good pick.
Seems like the value is pretty fair to me. We aren't giving up any of our top prospects like Stutzle, Tkachuk, Norris or Batherson.

I can justify moving Pinto and Brannstrom, but I just can't justify moving a 2022 1st, at least without protection. The Sens will be hard pressed to make the playoffs next year even with 82 games of Eichel, which they almost certainly aren't getting this year. Could easily end up a lottery pick, and if you end up being Shane Wright, and that instantly makes this deal a disaster. Maybe I'd do top 5 protected where it flips to next year, but I doubt Buffalo goes for that

Zero chance of cheapskate Eugene Melnyk taking on $10,000,000 x 5 for Jack Eichel.

Agreed on your point that You’ll likely have to provide better prospects than that for Werenski, particularly if you guys are getting him with an eight year deal, but the 1st and 2nd are good.
A lot of this is going to depend on the next year, and how much Jones returns in a trade. Basing so much of this on Werenski’s production and potential right now, my immediate reaction is to ask for more.

I agree he's projected as a middle 6 winger in the NHL. With his size, injury history and he has been in the AHL for 3 seasons and has never been called up yet. A $4M cap dump isn't huge but it will take something other than Shaw. Considering the Wings don't really need another winger with the holes they have at center and LD he has no value from Detroits point of view.

Heck No, Detroit's not basically taking on 7 cap dumps just to pretty much bury them for 1st and 2nd round picks. Both Edmonton and the Islanders would easily turn this down both are giving up far too much. Just keep it simple resign our RFAs and maybe resign Bernier and Glendening for UFAs that's it.

Both these team don't need to move that much cap space, but if EDM can move that for that little I think they'd do it. Isles probably not though.

One minor nuance is the scratches here count against the 23Mroster and some of those chaps would have to be sent down or taxied but thankfully-

The isles can just buyout clutterbuck and komarov, they don’t need to make this trade. They’re not trading a franchise G to dump bad contracts
