Description
I describe the trades in the trade-explenations.

For the FA-signings
Kirill: Me, like Minnesota, want to lock him up long-term. I think an 8-8 seems fair due to the fact that kirill and his camp want a shorter deal to cash in later when the cap starts to increase. If they push it to 8m/8, i think he’ll accept.

As for fiala and JEK, I want to line them up with Suters contract. That gives Minnesota more cap to resign them when they are in their prime. I belivie both would accept, cause they would still be able to get One more big payday after both their new contracts are up. And they could maybe be replaced by prospects down the line, and contracts that are 1-4 years long aint as hard to move as 5-8 year deals.

Then i brought back some depth due to it being very good this past Season. I did not reach into the UFA market more (for players that left other teams), due to the fact that i want Minnesota to have capspace to resign Greenway, Kappo and other Young players in the 2022 and 2023 Offseason. This also give them capspace to add during the Season.

The trades are made due to the cap, even the Dumba One..

Adding this mod/late first so that Seattle does not select either Dumba or Greenway. I do not belivie that Suter or Parisie will Waive their NMCs, even tho they should know that they would never be selected.

I don’t see why Ottawa would do that. Makes more sense for them to keep the pick and be patient

Their team Made great progress this year, and would have reached the playoff if they didnt choke during the first 10-game stretch. Adding a good defenceman such as Dumba would help them reach that goal. They cant just bank on player development, that why they signed Dadonov and traded for Stepan. And their prospect pool for defenceman is stacked.

I don’t see why Detroit would do this. Doesn’t seem like a win win to me.

I like Dumba, but I think JBD is going to be a really important part of Ottawa's blueline, and at 20 years old I think he'll be longer lived than Dumba would be.

I think the main problem with acquiring Dumba is that he can’t be extended. Realistically Ottawa could be parting with quality, cost controlled pieces just for Dumba to be gone before they’re seriously contending. If he had more term or had less term and could be extended as part of the trade I’d do it in a heartbeat

Kaprizov has reportedly been offered an 8x8 deal and hasn't accepted yet. His agent is the same as Panarin and Bobrobsky and the speculation is that his agent is pushing for a 5 year deal so he can get Kaprizov a huge second deal when he is 28-29. I'm guessing he gets around $7M for 4-5 years.

I think you're about $500K-$1M shy on Ek and Fiala, but it's close. I don't want anything to do with Bjugstad unless it's a league minimum deal and even then I'd rather see what some of our lower-ceiling prospects can do in the bottom 6 (like Dewer and Duhaime). Bonino contract is too much, I'd give him half that and if he declines then I'd let him walk.

I don't see any reason for us to move a first with Soucy to protect Dumba when you've traded him here. I wouldn't lose any sleep if they took Greenway personally. Seattle may opt to select Soucy anyways, he has looked solid on the 2nd pairing in a pinch and has a very reasonable contract.

Dumba return seems light, but who knows at this point. He's a good 2nd pairing player but overpaid by about a million.

You'd have to give up more to get rid of Rask in a flat cap world. With the trades you've made we don't have to dump him anyways, we have enough space for him here.

I dont Watch Minnesota as much as SJS or Detroit, i just base these contracts and signings by their base-stats. I belivie you tho. I just think trading Dumba could fetch Minnesota a good return and capspace.

I agree he's projected as a middle 6 winger in the NHL. With his size, injury history and he has been in the AHL for 3 seasons and has never been called up yet. A $4M cap dump isn't huge but it will take something other than Shaw. Considering the Wings don't really need another winger with the holes they have at center and LD he has no value from Detroits point of view.
