Man I ain't gonna lie. This is a very interesting proposal. Well done. This is what this site is about!!! Very interesting.
Edit: this was not supposed to be a quote. But the same works here. Interesting stuff from the OP and from you haha

Modest but Better
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OldNYIfan</b></div><div>Given the lack of depth in Pittsburgh's prospect pool, the Penguins might be effectively forced into taking that offer, but jfkst1's point is well taken: Pitt might want an actual NHL player at the top of that offer. Maybe replace Barron with one of your surplus existing NHL lefties?
Dallas has Heiskanen and Harley on the left plus one more season of both Lindell and Suter. I don't think that the Stars will invest those kind of assets in two seasons of Matheson. Bourque in particular seems like too much.
I don't see Dvorak getting a second in the off-season. That's the return from an injury-stricken team desperate for help at the trade deadline.</div></div>
Hey man. Interesting idea. Last week I put together pretty much the exact same offer but had Harris in the deal instead of Barron. A Penguin fan noted that they thought Barron would be a better option because he and crosby train together in the summer. Just a thought.

Value makes sense, but realitically Montreal uses Gallagher until they're ready to compete and then they buy him out.
Anderson they'll probably bury on the fourth line. He's useless but at least he's big and physical come playoff time. When they're ready to compete he can play on the fourth line.

I agree, but I moved him because I don't see a spot for him on the team. Missing out on a mid round pick isn't a deal breaker for a team that has stockpiled picks since I was in grade 11 (I am 22)

They'll probably need another equally high upside roster player coming back if they trade that pick. So while that is a valuable package in terms of quantity, they desperately need more of a quality return on the upside.</div></div>
What about:
Winnipeg's 2024 1st
Calgary's (Florida's) 2025 1st
Pittsburgh's 2025 2nd
Barron
Farrell
for 10th overall

at best they will be 5th and more probably 6th... no Lindstrom... who do you pick Instead
First pick: SJ/Celly, Chic/Silayev, Ana/Levshunov, CBJ/Lindstrom, Ott/Demidov, AZ/Eiserman = MTL/ ??? , Catton, Helenius.. or another Def?</div></div>
in this case: catton and then make the deal with Pitt. for iginla or parekh

He's a good, cup-winning defenceman on a bargain contract. He would solidify an already solid defence and give them three pairings that can play against anyone.
if he was anywhere other than Montreal, he would be a coveted trade chip.

One day left
Toronto declines...Jones is a better insurance policy than Provestov. 4th doesn't move the needle.
Arizona declines... Bjugstad is having a great year and is already on a good contract. They're not using up a retention slot for two years without getting anything in return.
Montreal and Colorado decline...Walker is the final RD on the roster now. Montreal isn't retaining for two years on Savard for a first in two seasons. Make it your 2024 first and maybe.

100%. Big overpayment to get retention on a solid player with term from a division rival. Point of the post is that Toronto should look elsewhere for a defenceman. I think Hanifin would be a solid option but I think an RD is best. Maybe Walker.
