Jones To DAL Benn To NJ Bratt To CHI Trade
Dallas also declines. Stars have 2 more years of Benn's contract. They're not taking the remaining 7 years of Jones' contract. Chicago dug that hole. They have to deal with the consequences of that contract.

I’ll take Harley’s ceiling and size all day long. Betting on Nick might pay off but I think Delly’s overall game is a bigger need considering I think it’s time to flush Faksa

Dallas just spent a 1st plus for Lundqvist I don’t see them moving him, and I don’t think it’s that great of a deal for San Jose either.

I'm okay with this. Is it an overpay? Yes. But if Lundkvist is as good as he's been hyped up to be this could work out well for Dallas.

Robertson
Wtf is this absolute garbage?
Dubois (who hasn’t been the best guy to stay on a team, and will most likely leave to Montreal in a year), Wheeler (who is very much meh and old), a 1st in two years, a 2nd one year from now, and then a bunch of garbage for a top 10 LW and a top 20 centre, who’re both very young.

This seems like a very realistic trade. Everyone seems to be inflating Lundkvist's value but I think you nailed it. Rangers are said to be looking for a centre prospect with some upside.

Realistic Remainder of Offseason
You spent a lot of time on this just to propose three trades that are all declined by the other team. Dallas doesn’t have the cap space for that. Barrie can’t defense. Jani can’t offense. Better to keep the cheaper player. Too much for Pulju. Not enough for Kane

This is blatantly incorrect.
“Dallas does pick up 3 mil here but are likely still able to sign Robertson & Oettinger regardless.“
Dallas doesn’t touch this trade

A. Why would you guys trade Allen for an inferior goalie when it looks like Price is going to miss the whole year? B. Why would the Stars trade for Allen when they already have Otter and Wedgewood (and Dobby before this trade)?

What does the trade deadline look like
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Kyle_Davidson</b></div><div>As a rental, depending on his season and trade fit, I think AA should be worth a 2nd at the deadline. It’s obviously tricky projecting this type of deal in the off-season but he’s got the tools contenders look for and if he can be had for around 1.5 million in cap (50% retained or contract coming back) then I feel pretty confident the asking price is met.
I definitely think Domi is going to be a harder sell than AA, hence me saving a salary retention slot for him, but at 1.5 cap hit and playing next to Kane for a significant portion of the season I think there will be some teams interested. I don’t want to repeat myself in the same post but assuming he has a decent season I don’t see why the asking price of a 2nd won’t be met.
<strong>The team that acquires Kane will have to give up some type of top prospect, and for what Kane is I’m not sure why you wouldn’t especially if you guys consider yourselves a contender at the deadline.</strong></div></div>
Because:
1. With the way the team is constructed, they aren’t contenders, and they aren’t a Kane away from being contenders.
2. They cannot afford to re-sign Kane after this year, with Hintz needing a new contract.
3. Stankoven isn’t just some prospect, he’s a top tier prospect, he won CHL player of the year this season, he has immense talent, he’s the real deal.
4. The last blockbuster Jim Nill dod was almost a decade ago, by his history, he has never traded a prospect the caliber of Stankoven or a 1st round pick (except to acquire another 1st round pick).
5. If Dallas were to upgrade at a position, it should 100% be defence over offence.

Way too much for Dallas to give up for Kane. If the ask is any of our 3 top prospects, then they should just walk away.

Vegas run
None of the non Montreal teams consider that. Vegas wants to win now and that package makes them worse.
Detroit doesn't need anymore wingers and especially at the cost of a very good defensive RHD who looks to be a perfect fit for our third pairing. No idea how Detroit even adds a pick in this situation. If you want Lindstrom for Dadonov we would expect at least Montreal's first round pick coming back other wise it is just not worth it for us.
Nashville would at least need a first + back to consider that.
Dallas is not going to pay a first to take on more cap.

No need to take on more cap. Dump Faksa for a pick instead. Bring up Dellandrea and save roughly 2.5 mil
Nill would find something better to trade his first round pick for, if he even trades it away.
A RHD prospect thats a year or two away would be better. No need for Norlinder.
Stars have Harley, Bichsel and Grushnikov.
