<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Russell_C</b></div><div>Could the Avalanche not be bypassed in this 3 way trade? Does Anaheim value the futures more than Nylander? Real question. Because i'm not terribly familiar with their future. ( I hate that i have to say that but Capfriendly comments have become less and less constructive and more "your an idiot" type thing )

Low key though, everyone who has commented so far has been super constructive.</div></div>

You could say that any of the 3 teams could get bypassed to be fair...

Toronto could be bypassed since Colorado would also find it pretty nice to add Rakell (50% retained) and Manson. A top 6 forward and RHD are the two biggest needs after all.

Anaheim could be bypassed if Avs send Toronto enough futures (while Toronto sign Pietrangelo for example).

And as you said, Colorado could be bypassed if Anaheim want Nylander.

That said, I think Timmins, Kaut, etc would fit Anaheim's rebuild slightly better than Nylander, so they wouldn't bypass Toronto. Whoever they pick at No.6 is going to be like 3 years away from making a serious impact, and by then Nylander would be close to hitting UFA.

From Colorado's perspective, whilst Rakell and Manson are attractive pieces, the need for Manson isn't pressing as we still have Cole and Johnson who are solid in similar roles still. And Colorado's window is only just opening up so they'd lean the way of Nylander given the 2 years extra term.

Lastly, Anaheim could get cut out, but I think Toronto would want players like Rakell and Manson who can help immediately, rather than futures.

So overall, it's a trade where you COULD bypass any of the teams, but the most suitable alternative is to have a 3 way trade.
