Wingers specifically. Probably throw buchnevich in there too. Debrincat and Tkachuk got more than B prospect + first that you are talking about, but I think kyrou fits more with buchnevich/reinhart/fiala to be fair.

Sounds right. Plus we have Levi, who is a fantastic goalie prospect, and upl, along with portillos rights. I understand why a gm would like to run out goalies like comrie and Anderson, really just looking for solid play from the goalies. Plus, the Sabres d is markedly improved, they added power and lybushkin, that should make the goalies look better too.

I guess this must be a rather pedestrian post as it received only two comments.

I don't think the Sabres first is gonna be on the table for anything reasonable. Not in next years draft certainly.

No, Sabres don't do that at all. Sabres save their cap (or spend it) on a 5.5m about as good Konecky and keep their picks.

Actually I think the Sabres/Wings/Devils can be good teams really soon. Good ELC players, high picks and lots of cap. Just spend the cap wisely, and all three will now be in the playoff chase soon, and just might be the top contenders in the East in in three/four years.

I really like that flames trade. It’s a Win-Win. You’re trading a solid mid-line forward for great draft picks. Even though Monahan and Lucic have high cap hits it helps Buffalo hit the cap minimum plus they can mentor the younger players.

And at that price,
we should be aiming for a much better player anyways

Asplund is the best piece in the deal considerably. Lundkvist is not developing all that well and reaves has zero impact on the game. Peg fans will say that isnt enough and we need to add both power and dahlin for their second line centerman

Listened to Kevin Adams and I think you are right - Quinn and Peterka will be the main adds and maybe a Middle of the road Goalie from a trade or FA - RD might just be Pysyk resigned and Fitzgerald - would not be shocked by the return of Brett Murray, or Hinostroza or Hayden or Jankowski - and he might be too old but Sean Malone wouldn't shock me and Oskari Laaksonen might come up for a cup of coffee - looks like Bloom will come up to Rochester and next year maybe Nadeau, and Cederqvist.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AudioCats</b></div><div>Ugh, please no. The negligible hit of having Girgs play 4C is far offset by keeping Mitts or Olofsson around...</div></div> <div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Sabres923</b></div><div>They obviously care about face-offs...</div></div> IMHO FO are important.
Thompson is getting better at FO. He spent most of the season at 38% now he is over 41%.
Mittelstadt is nearly 50% for his career.
I was thrilled when I saw Eakin take all OT FO. Especially in OT, that may be the only possession similar to NFL OT.
Olofsson scored five goals in his first 9 games and now has 11 in this last 19.
I see no reason to trade him and presume Peterka a RHS, could do as well as he on LW.
Let me add, the year Girgensons went to the All Star game, he won 440 FO, the most of any Sabre.
Skinner-Thompson-Tuch
Olofsson-Cozens-Quinn
Krebs-Mittelstadt-Peterka
Asplund-Girgensons-Okposo would be a good fourth line IMHO.

2022-2023 - Read Description you too Sab Fans
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OrganizedConfusion55</b></div><div>I have never liked Cozens. And for all the hype, he hasnt done anything in the NHL, and doesnt get on the scoresheet nearly enough. I mean rookies like Mercer (really?) , Seider (rookie dman on a team just as bad as the sabs), Zergas (who I wanted to take at 7) and so on are outperforming him.
Not mad at him, not sure why people cant have takes on players.</div></div>
Hockey isn't just about points. His whole scouting report from Juniors was that he thrives in transition and makes things happen while driving into the offensive zone. You're just being so incredibly biased and blinded by that, that you don't want to see how he's a good player. A remarkably good one for his age, too. Being a centerman is a lot harder than playing on the wing, you're responsible for a much larger section of ice and have to play within the most contested areas.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OrganizedConfusion55</b></div><div>Cozens isnt going to be a NHL center imo. Krebs will take that spot from him, he has way better vision on the ice. If Cozens stays in Buffalo, he will start playing more at wing imo.</div></div>
Also yeah wtf is this. He has 35 points so far on the season, good for the top 60 of ALL centers to play at least 15 games this season. That puts him firmly in 2C production. If that isn't an NHL center based off points alone, then what the hell is an NHL center? Only Barkov's and Matthews' allowed? He's outscoring other centers in his draft class like Dach, Newhook, Krebs, Tomasino, and McMichael.
He's 8th in scoring for all NHL centers under 22. Like honestly, what the hell more are you asking for?
I can understand takes on Mitts or Bryson or Olofsson or whatever, but this is just the worst thing I've seen on a site <em>full</em> of terrible ideas.

What are you referring to with Hamilton? He’s been fantastic this year. Underlying numbers are great as well as his counting stats. Him and Graves have been a fantastic pairing and compliment each other very well. It’s okay to be pissed about the Devils but don’t put their lack of success on arguably their best player who’s living up to his contract through year 1.
