Sabres have one of the more conservative GM’s he isn’t trading a top prospect for Patrick Kane. They aren’t good enough to make this move.

Murray isn’t waiving. And the only reason why the Sabres were going to trade for Murray is because they were getting Ottawas 7th overall pick.

You're getting a few solid pieces in the draft this year at 9 (Lekkerimäki) and 16 (Chelsey) then a legit shot at Bedard in 2023.</div></div>
They aren’t going to be bad enough for Bedard. They are probably going to be around 500.

I get the arguement but the Tier 1 on the pyramid is usually reserved for only the elite special talents, like a Marner, or Crosby. or McDavid type. no even wright would make the tier 1 in this draft class.</div></div>
Peterka overall is a better player than Quinn. Power is definitely a tier one prospect.

No they won’t get that much. Look at the Sam Reinhart trade. Fiala is one year away from being a UFA, Wild aren’t getting an insane trade package. It will be a 1st round pick and a mid level prospect.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>Shouldn't the Sabres owners and management try to make the team better by signing a UFA or two to actually help the players and fans.
To run an NHL team costs bout 140m a year. So spend 61m or 71m on players salaries.....a 10m difference doesn't really the owners at all. Actually a better team makes the owners money...more seats sold, maybe playoff money, and better TV revenue.</div></div>
They are going to push hard to get a real number one goalie. And another right shot defenseman. Adding Quinn and Peterka full time will help too if they both have good rookie seasons.

At the most Carolina gets a late round pick. Teams know that Carolina doesn’t want him anymore so they will just wait until he’s a UFA when Carolina doesn’t give him a qualifying offer.

I think you are going to be surprised. Teams aren’t going to take Monahan for free. GM’s that Calgary has to trade him.

Yes it would Lucic can’t skate it cost a first to move Marleau, It would also cost picks to move Monahan. This is also clearing Calgary over 12 million to sign their 3 best forwards.
