<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>rangersandislesfan</b></div><div><div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tadhockey</b></div><div>Obviously what Markov does will be determined by whether he wants to play in the NHL, or just wants to play in Montreal. Barring A) All GMs coming together and deciding not to sign Markov (eg. RFAs) or B) Only wanting to sign in Montreal, there should be a market for the services the market provides.

That being said, where this gets interesting is that the teams that would really want Markov are also the same teams that cannot easily afford him. The list of teams with a hole at a top-4, LHD spot:
New Jersey
Boston*
Colorado
Buffalo**
Florida
Montreal
Vancouver***
Chicago
Detroit
*Depending on your Torey Krug/Zdeno Chara opinion
**Depending on your Jake McCabe opinion
***Depending on your Michael Del Zotto opinion

So if we take Detroit and Chicago out, under the assumption that there's no chance they can afford him, that leaves 7 teams, with at least three of them easily classified as rebuilding (NJ, COL, VAN).

Which of these teams would be interesting to Markov? We have to assume that if he's leaving Montreal, it's to a team that can win the Stanley Cup. That likely eliminates Colorado (although that's probably the best fit), New Jersey, and Vancouver. If we also assume he wouldn't jump ship to the Bruins (even though I think it would be a great move for both team and player), that leaves Florida and Buffalo. Of those, Florida feels like the best fit for him, but Buffalo has a better chance to win in the short term.

So, if I had to make a top 5,
1. Montreal
2. Florida
3. Buffalo
4. Colorado
5. Boston</div></div>

Vancouver has a very deep defence actually. If they add Markov either he, Gudbranson, or Del-Zotto would fall out of the lineup.</div></div>
Ummmmmm.....
