I'd be good with just Pius Suter</div></div>
They will both be on bench game 1. Guaranteed.

Two Depth Pieces Please
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Claesson4Norris</b></div><div>Josh Bailey is so not worth it. Having an offense only playmaker on the 4th line who doesn't score goals is not what Ottawa needs from the bottom six. They need a bottom six that can give goal support and take care of things in their own end. They've already got some offensive minded wingers with questionable defensive results (Tkachuk, Batherson, Kubalik) they definitely do not need to add more to the bottom of the lineup</div></div>
Wrong mate. Bailey is versatile slides up to any position with injuries.

Here’s an unpopular take; But I’d rather keep Joseph over getting Tatar. He’s better defensively which is what we want in the bottom six. He could have a bounce back year offensively and earn his AAV.

A first for Laughton seems high. A low 2nd would be more reasonable imo.

We'll never know who Sens would have drafted at # 7, but certainly looking at the players drafted # 7 to 11 look like NHLers. Either way 6.4m and 9m ion DeBrincat's cap for his two Ottawa season could have been spent better.</div></div>
Those 7-11 picks are likely middle lineup players... so be it.
Cat on the top line with Stu and Brady will be worth the $9M.
The Battle of Ontario is on next season!

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>1. How can justify the DeBrincat trade? I'm not a big supporter of TDL trades because they rarely help teams much for a Cup push. But in the Sens case gave up premier pick and more just to finish out of th playoffs.</div></div>
It was 7OA in a weak draft class plus we have a lot of youthful talent. So I think it's worth it for two years of a very good top 6 forward. It may not be the most popular opinion but I'm not too worried about it.

If Formenton is cleared and returns
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>You're probably right....but it likely the Sens still wouldn't make the playoffs. What a disaster that DeBrincat trade was giving up those picks for two years of not making the playoffs, and very possibly not been able to trade for any sort of return so walks as UFA next summer. I didn't like the Chychrun traded either. Yeah, the value might have be fair, but again gave up too much just to miss the playoffs for at least two of years he's a Sen</div></div>
Respectfully disagree on all fronts:
1. Don't mind the Cat trade at all despite him walking after two years. Teams pay just as much at trade deadlines to get a top 6 for a month and a playoff run. Plus we'll need that cap space to resign younger talent (Pinto, Greig, Sanderson, Klevin, and maybe Chyc extension). Despite the ACGM critics, this one is fine.
2. Sens will100% push for playoffs this year. That's just a bad take.
3. Chyc trade is awesome. He's a beast and has bad luck health wise. Can happen to anybody.

All incorrect. Front load it on Y1 above QO to incentivize two year deal. Sens do not want to commit any longer than that. Done.

Sens tried him out. Didn’t work here. Time to move on. Doesn’t mean he won’t fit in on another team… like Detroit.

I don’t expect the Sens to get anything close to what they traded for him. The secondary part of this is to open up some cap space.
