<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CMcAvoy73</b></div><div>One question i have here: how do you convince zboril to come back? I think he’s a player. Obviously things might have totally changed after losing a season to knee surgery, but he looked really good. However, if I’m him, and I’m looking at this team, there’s virtually no possibility of getting into the top four. He would always be a couple mistakes away from being a healthy scratch. Wouldn’t it be better for him to go to a place with a bit more opportunity?</div></div>
Yup plausible for sure, I mean he is a UFA so that’s his right. But ultimately not team breaking by any means though. At worst BOS goes and gets another bottom pair Dman for about same money.

I agree, but Grez being hometown boy made me assume they would move Reilly over him but either way, someone got to go IMO
Foligno, doesn’t have to be non-contender, just threw BUF up there, NSH has plenty of cap and could use some depth possibly, LAK is same , again may not happen and worse comes to worse they can buy him out for only 1.9 so either way should be able to move on from him if they choose

Domi is a down grade at 2C, so not helpful. Don’t mind his style, wouldn’t mind picking him up but not for this package and not for 2C. Then idk if you really want to break up 11-12-13 line (sequence line) , so Domi becomes 4LW? Idk doesn’t seem like greatest fit

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hammerwise</b></div><div>I think FLA is adding either denisenko or samoskevich AND a 3rd to the above offer.
HOWEVER, theres two teams bidding now, and might be more (based on Giroux's undisclosed waived team list), and theres three days to go. If the rumours are true and hes waived to go to FLA, he might also have waived for half a dozen other teams, who may/may not enter the bidding.
So while FLAs offer might be Tippett, one of those two other prospects AND a 2nd, that might not be the winning bid.</div></div>
Looks to be about what I expecte, thanks for insight.
I just heard FLA was #1 destination. And only other true possibility was COL. He’s rumored to have denied BOS and NYR trades. I don’t see MIN being option and I know we’ve heard STL in the past but I don’t see that happening
I would think COL could beat that offer from FLA but I guess we will see soon enough

What would even be the return for Husso
I would assume STL would keep Husso for their own “rental” with Jordan being streaky this year. But being totally hypothetical here, Husso cap hit makes him much more desirable to team like TOR. But it is hard to gauge acquisition cost here.
He’s a rental with no playoff experience and not much nhl history. He is having a good year and on a great contract, couple that with TOR need. I would think STL could possibly squeeze a first out of TOR, maybe even +prospect. Only because STL doesn’t have to move him, I think they would be perfectly content holding onto him for their own insurance in net. so I’d say they would set price high and if TOR takes it, great, if not great as well

Trade values
Stanley- most have him at a 2nd and maybe middle prospect. Some fans are not ready to give up on him yet.
Hagel- think Coleman/Goodrow type here is the rumor, so 1st and prospect
Dahlin- Untouchable (I don’t like this term), every single player is tradable. So with that, I would personally go with “ Going to take a MASSIVE overpayment”
As far as actual mock trades from LAK, I’m not sure as I don’t know these teams exact needs/wants so not going to touch that
WIn- idk if they even know what they are doing
CHI- probably young players 20yo range for their rebuild
BUF- would assume about the same as CHI with possibly little older range being acceptable 25yo and under I would think

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CMcAvoy73</b></div><div>Alright, well lets start with the very beginning.
There’s no reason to think that Sweeney isn’t going hunting for a big deal. He’s done it in the past, and it seems like this is a good year to do it again.
Then lets go to the emojis. You realize every time you use one of those laughing emoji things what you’re saying is, “since i can’t actually come up with anything funny, I’m going to tell you that this is supposed to be funny.” Try just being funny.
Debrusk staying in boston - good here. I agree. Lone bright spot.
Then you have “sween,” - puke - signing a couple depth D. Who are these guys that are still randomly free agents at this point in the year? NCAA guys? Are those really NHL depth immediately?
So then we have this random list of everyone getting moved to different places without much of an explanation as to why? Are you just showing where you think everyone is going? If so, cool i guess. Seems kind of, well, incoherent, or at the very least disorganized.
Then we have the needs. If debrusk is staying, why is an RW the apparent number one need, despite Debrusk, Pastrnak, and Smith playing that position? I get that you say he’s moved. But right before that you say you don’t think he’s moved. Know what that is? Incoherent.
Then how on earth does bertuzzi enter the conversation?
It kind of goes on and on from there, but you get the picture…..Middleton on the top pair…woof.</div></div>
Ok great, appreciate the feedback!!
I think sweeny gets outbid on big TDL targets is more of what I’m getting at, not that sweeny doesn’t have the balls to go after a big target
Emoji’s, lol that’s the most petty thing I’ve ever seen you complain about so not bothering
JD 👍
Sween- sorry missed a y there, fixed it! Thanks for proofreading
Signings, sorry your right, miss spoke there. Should of said acquires not sign, as I meant to trade for. So my bad on that
Trade targets list is list of where I think people are going, not getting into fit, cost, or as to why they would go there. Plenty of articles out there that already discuss these points. Incoherent not at all. Unorganized? Player moved on the right-Acquiring team on the left, want it in alphabetical order next time? I’m Not wasting whole bunch of time making it pretty. It’s quiet simple to understand player and where I think they’re going to end up.
RW is not the #1 need, it says right above it, “ in no particular order”. Pasta and smith are working where they are so not moving them off their lines. Don’t know how your so confused over this. IMO JD isn’t moved separate, now on to needs, hypothetically, if JD is moved RW is an issue that needs to be addressed.
Bertuzzi was newly added to DFO trade bait board this week, thought it was interesting topic so through it in there. Has played RW, is an upgrade over JD, and acquisition should be cheaper then some others, that’s all. Don’t see it happening personally. Again guessing JD stays put
Middleton is averaging 19mins TOI and stay home dman makes sense alongside Mac. He’s good at blocking shots and making hits. And also provides some good protection for Mac, who seems to being targeted a lot more this year. But other then that I guess could slide him down to play with Carlo and Grez back up top, also a solid option. And could see swapping them two based on who the match ups are, if it’s not a physical team or not targeting Mac then slide Middleton down the lineup but if it’s the opposite then throw him up top for a little bit to keep guys in check. That was my thought process anyways, not best option I’m sure, but viable one IMO. Again this is only cause i don’t think BOS acquires a true top 4 dman at TDL
Hope that helps make it not so incoherent

I think he gets moved, not for as much as they want though. I think he would like Calgary but not sure about cost issue. I can see someone grabbing him for cheaper veteran option. LA could be option also, if the cost gets reduced a bit. I just personally saw best fit with NYR for little veteran leadership on a younger backend and low cost. Don’t see them resigning him though, just using for playoff run

Hopefully JD’s mentality stays high after the TDL, if this is the case. I’m assuming it will, he’s got a good head on his shoulders and as long as he stays on that top line he should be able to recognize that opportunity and try to maximize production for his next contract🤞. If for some reason he gets bumped off the top line though, I can see his drive declining very very fast though.

Draft Day-Trading Up
There’s about a 0% chance teams in top 5 are going to trade out of it, and Chances are both these guys are going taken in top 5 (as of right now), so trading up from the teens to top 5 pick is going to be extremely costly. Historically the cost to move up a couple spots in the 10-15 range would cost a 2nd, to move up 5-10 spots your looking at easily multiple 2nd, 3rd, prospect’s, somewhere in that area depending on the number of spots needed. And with ARI, SEA, MTL all planning rebuilds they are very unlikely to trade their spots unless it’s a massive overpayment and they’re currently accounting for about 40% of chances of winning the lottery. Only team you might stand half a chance to trade with would be The blue jackets as they have 2 1st round picks looking to be in the 5-15 range. Possibly OTT as they’re on the tail end of the rebuild and may be able to get by picking few spots later but again, it won’t be cheap. Not impossible but prepare to overpay and it won’t come easy that’s for sure

Berg, haula, coyle, nosek, lazar, foligno, and studs can and all have played center, even Freddy and steen have also played center at lower levels too, I believe, so BOS isn’t paying a 2nd for a 5th-8th center. They can go get one of them cheaper then that. And most of them are also spare guys that can take PK time also but are not “regular” pk guys.
Not saying BOS wouldn’t use him, just saying BOS isn’t giving up a 2nd for him, IMO. But hey it is sweeny we’re talking about here. After some of the trades he’s made anything is possible I guess
