It's a lot. But comparing it to the Lindholm trade return and there's no 1st round pick, makes this trade absolutely not insane. but yah, it's a lot.

I agree, they should approach Rust and trade him. Not sure Rust for Bunting is fair, would want to see more coming back to Pitt.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>WingsMJN2965</b></div><div>Uhh yeah, this is bull****.
The entire Guentzel-Detroit talk stemmed from Elliotte saying that he <em>believes</em> Yzerman is under pressure to make the playoffs and <em>wonders</em> if Yzerman would look to add Guentzel. It's 100% pure speculation. Elliotte has clarified that it's 100% his speculation. And Elliotte has added that Yzerman would not likely be willing to sign the contract Guentzel wants.
So no, there's been no credible information that actually indicates Detroit is interested. This is literally as simple as going and listening to the 32 Thoughts clip before making **** up.</div></div>
Feels like you're getting upset on a fantasy trade post. Relax.
But your emotional response does bring up some good points - like when does Stevie Y decide to bring in support to give his team a chance to contend? Personally, I think Detroit is the most underrated team in the league and could potentially compete with anyone in the east.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mmccRed198913</b></div><div>Yeah Wings aren’t doing that.</div></div>
Fair.
Of note, is that Detroit has been reported as an underdog for Guentz indicating clear interest. We all agree that Yzerman is smart and would understand the market value for Jake. So, this idea that he wouldn't give up a prospect or a 1 rounder is nonsense. Maybe he doesn't let go of both - but then he doesn't get what he be reportedly interested in.

Moreover, I'm still loving the incessant proposals where Detroit, who has the #4 offense in the league, is selling futures to add <em>offense</em>, while Jeff Petry is still on their second pairing.</div></div>
At least one more time.

Nylander Trade
I think there could be something there with Boeser and Nylander. But it might look like a sign and trade or else the Canucks wouldn't make the deal. I think Petterson and Nylander could be a dynmaic duo (and I think countrymen too?). So a deal like this would depend on Petterson signing long-term as well.

Brad is still very tight to the cap. Chad brings veteran presence. Dubas bring in a player form his junior team. And good luck trying to understand most of brads moves, like signing a plug for 3 years at 1.6 or whatever.

Pittsburgh NO EK
I’ve never understood pens trading POJ, but it’s been discussed regularly. My thinking is that the pens have no secondary scoring in their bottom 6. Not that Katchouk puts them over the top, but it’s better than what they had.

Why not? Don't act like he's the second coming of Roy. Plus, it takes value to get value. In this trade, Miller is the best player involved. But I get your point, it's totally fair.

Would this work your thoughts
I like the idea of both trades but the LA trade seems steep for toffoli. I don't know what it would take to get him, but hopefully not that much. Maybe it's the 1st round pick that puts it over the top. I don't think this team should even consider moving a 1 round pick even if it's in 2021. This team could easily get worse before it gets better.

GMJR gets aggressive KESSEL MAATTA SPRONG out
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>biglite351</b></div><div>Why is Rutherford trading Kessel now?</div></div>
I don't actually think it realistic that he is traded..that said, I still think pitt wants to do something aggressive, call it desperate, and there's only a few players that have any value. And I hope a 1st round pick isn't in play.

I agree. It is a lot. Probably too much. Regarding Phil, I don't see them trading him either but there's all this talk of GMJR being aggressive. But the question is, aside from a 1st round pick, what else do they have of value? Not much. And they're playing with fire if they let that 1st pick go...could end up being a high pick.

I don't hate your trade, but don't love it either. Speed is the name of the game and LA don't have much of it. Add to that, Rust is one of the fastest players on pitt. Don't love his contract, but I really like rusty. I think this trade is ok but it makes pitt slower.

Sprong and Maatta to LA
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>exo2769</b></div><div>I think this is a pretty darn good trade for both sides. LAK needs younger cost controlled players and PIT really needs a better defender right now. I don't actually advocate for PIT to trade Sprong, but everyone else is saying it's inevitable so kill a few birds with 1 stone. Shed Maatta...Get a quality Dman in return, but it'll cost you a quality prospect.</div></div>
I agree with you about Sprong. I don't want to see him traded either. Hes playing like he might be cut anytime. So the effort is there but he's gripping the stick and is afraid to make some plays on how own.
