If Dillon was a R handed D man we'd be able to work this out. But they don't need another LHD.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Squid17</b></div><div>Well as a Jets fan I sure hope they can convince someone to give them a 1st round pick.
Players that will likely get traded
UFA's
Giroux
Pavelski
Kessel
Klingberg
Hertl
Manson
Charoit
Giordarno
M.A. Fleury
Leddy
De Haan
Rackell
Colin Miller
Clutterbuck
Reilly Smith
Possible Non UFA's that get dealt
JT Miller
Chychrun
DeBrusk
Toffoli

teams that are most likely to trade their first round pick (Colorado, Florida and Carolina don't have 2022 1st round picks)
NYR
Wash
Tampa
Minnesota ( they haven't had a long run in playoffs so they might)
Toronto (tradition says they will but how many more can they give away and if they do it will be on a Dman)
Pitt (ya probably but my guess is they use it on a Dman)
Boston (possible but might want more scoring than Copp provides)
St. Louis (possible Copp destination but they maybe looking for some dman)
Nashville (doubt they think they can make a run so they probably hold on to their pick)
Edmonton (maybe Holland in a desperation to keep his job might but again more likely a dman or goalie)
Calgary (can't see them thinking that it's their time but maybe although Copp certainly doesn't put them in the Cup conversation)
Ana and LA no way they are trading their picks

I just have a hard time thinking Copp gets one of those 1st round picks maybe a 2023 first pick. Jets are pretty low on young forward prospects other than Pefetti and Gustafsson so if you don't get a first pick a second rd with a mid tier young prospect is next best thing. But I hope you are right.</div></div>

Penguins won't be trading their 1st this year. They have already stated that.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>FuelYourJets</b></div><div>This is to lock up Dubois to $8M for 8 years. And get Copp signed at $5M, we could potentially trade Copp later when he's not a potential UFA and hardly attractive in a Trade. I only give Gus and Ves 1 year of minimum before $1.1M would be freed up to give them their slight raise before a big raise.(Extra worth it/bigger pay for loyalty.) But we have to sign Svech a slighter raise than Gus and Ves, who also aren't potential UFA's we don't have to worry about for another few years. If we could Sign Dubois at cheaper, then they'll all be paid better. But we risk not locking up Dubois.... So do we want to try lock up Dubois or play potential pathways??</div></div>

I don't get what your point is, slight raises for Vesalainen and Gus will prevent signing PLD long term??

They're looking at one to two year deals at like $800-925K, there should be space for that and a long term deal for Dubois.
Also I can't imagine Gustafsson isn't a full time Jet next season, maybe they trade Vesalainen but he isn't worth much on his own, unless he's a sweetener in a trade they're better off keeping him, just can't see either guy taking a paycut.

As others have said, Seattle won't retain on Tanev and I doubt they'll trade him anyway since he's a huge fan favorite.

Copp would have some value as a rental, could probably get a 2nd round pick for him at the TDL and again if they aren't looking like a playoff lock by the trade deadline it'll be more then obvious that this core isn't working and some bigger changes are needed, if that's the case I see no point in bringing Copp back.

Acquiring both Schmidt and Dillon backed Chevy into a corner with little cap space to work with so someone that makes at least $3M is going to need to go to make a big PLD extension work.
