The Sabres aren't going to trade a high second for Quick, no need for retention even if they did.

If Lou was smart Johnny Hockey
Buffalo isn't going to give up a young prospect that started showing good promise towards the end of his AHL year last year and a 2nd round pick for a goalie with 1 year left on his deal who probably wouldn't waive to go to Buffalo in the first place

I get what you're saying, but a first rounder in 2 years will always be worth more when it is all said and done than a 2nd rounder the following season, plus it is flipped back to Florida anyway so you're getting JVR and Weegar for a 2nd

Brokering Kane and Toews trades
So Buffalo gets Varly and a 2nd for eating over $5 million of cap if I am reading that right. On top of that Pittsburgh wouldn't want Toews and the Islanders are paying too much for a UFA in Kane and I don't think Kane waives to go to the Island.

make the kane trades stop please
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mac11_716</b></div><div>But he can't just force his way to Buffalo. I understand all of the connections in terms of where he is from, Buffalo has room, they have assets, but Adams has shown he is going to be patient and not rush a single thing. I find it hard to believe they would move anything of significance to acquire him, especially now that they used all three of their firsts.</div></div>
He can't force anything, but he can turn everything down and force Chicago to lose him at the end of his contract for nothing, look at the Taylor Hall from last year. No matter what Chicago isn't getting anywhere near value for Kane unless he says to start shopping him around. Best case for Chicago is Kane plays until the deadline and Kane agrees to waive to 5 teams and lets them bid for his services. Chicago put themselves in a horrible spot here. They should have kept Cat, the Dach trade was good, but the Seth Jones trade is going to set that franchise back for another 3 years.

Sabres Weaponized Cap
Philly's pick will be top 10 protected, but I don't know how badly they would want to move JVR...they're not a playoff team why give up a 1st to get him off the books for a year?

P Kane
I think you would have to include a little bit more for Kane, not because he is Patrick Kane, but because Zucker doesn't have much value to Chicago if any. A meh goalie prospect a late 1st and a 4th with taking on a cap dump isn't going to get it done I think. Change the prospect or include a higher pick and I think you're close

Murray has negative value, you're certainly not getting anything of substance for him, and why would Edmonton want him? They need a good goalie especially after the run they had last season

Eichel and ovi
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DogDayCaps2</b></div><div>Lol interesting take considering if you use that same logic Buffalo would have traded Eichel by now. Washington GM came out and said they never were shopping Kuzy If you use logical thinking Kuzy value would be at its highest once Eichel is off the market. Not rocket science lol. Need to maximize value why sell for pennies on the dollar</div></div>
Apples and oranges my man, Kutz is healthy, and there is a lot of uncertainty around Eichel and his health. If Eichel was healthy you know as much as I do he would have been moved by now. Also so just because Washington's GM came out and said they weren't shopping him that doesn't mean anything. Happens all the time "we are not making a change at the head coach position", "we are not making a change at the GM position", "we are not trading player X"...a week later fired, fired, traded...

Eichel and ovi
Kutz, Haglein, and Copley have zero interest from a Buffalo standpoint. Alexeyev is another left handed defensemen which Buffalo doesn't need in their system, so the only interesting pieces is McMichael and a bunch of late 1st rounders. Unless there is a third team involved that want Kutz and would be giving up good pieces for him (there isn't or Washington would have traded him by now) then Buffalo passes

Buffalo will accept if they're getting Calgary's first, Boston and St Louis' first should be late firsts, Calgary is up in the air, the Pacific is a weaker conference, they could make the playoffs or miss.

Kraken - Could Go Crazy Eichel Trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>KC11</b></div><div>Looks like the bridge is not only burned, but blown up. Buffalo has such little bargaining power at this point. By refusing to approve Eichel's surgery now, that adds risk to his recovery timeline and questions about his return to form. Young, yes, but injured and unhappy is not a recipe for good leverage in a trade.</div></div>
I don't think you understand leverage. The Sabres hold all of it, for 5 more seasons. Eichel can only refuse a trade once his NMC kicks in, that doesn't mean the Sabres have to trade him...
