Also every other Jarry trade I posted everyone said it was an underpay. I'd go big or go home to get a backup right now as the Leafs are in serious need of one.</div></div>
They've all been underpays bc JARRY IS <strong>NOT</strong> AVAILABLE

Soo toughness
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Sufferingleafsfan</b></div><div>I thoroughly don't understand this logic in the Leafs community that 1 'tough guy' forward is going to solve our team toughness issue. I 100% agree that the Leafs need to be meaner, tougher, harder to play against physically and that they need to stand up for teammates. I just think that all of that comes from the team as a whole stepping up. Look back to the Chicago game this year Toews dropped the gloves to make a statement and stand up for his team is Toews the type of 'tough guy' player we should be acquiring...no he doesn't fit that mould (He's probably more like JT) but he stood up for his teammate regardless.
I just think that the logic is flawed to think that one 'tough guy' forward who will play on our 4th line, so 10mins a night MAX under the Keefe system, is going to miraculously make the Leafs tougher to play against.
Teams like Boston are tough to play against, in the way we're talking about, because everyone up and down the lineup is willing to push hard and play physical. Not because they have 1 out of 12 forwards who is a 'tough guy'.</div></div>
I know a lot of the TV talking heads said last year that Toronto's toughness improvement needed to come from inside. The Boston guys haven't been "tough" their whole career, they had to learn to play that way. Matthews has a big frame, he needs to get more comfortable throwing it around (imagine he started playing a bit more like JT), Marner needs to get a bit of Marchand to his game (minus the cheap shots) and work on his forecheck. Nylander is never going to be a big bodycheck guy, but can improve his strength on the puck and ability to go and get it. Reilly needs to get better at battling in the corners. Those are the things that will make the Leafs tougher, I 100% agree about not adding some 3rd pair D or 4th line player to add "sandpaper."
If they wanted to do that just bring up Mason Marchment when he's healthy for nothing.

Who do you trade to upgrade backup and RHD
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>This trade Ceci at any cost is silly. He certainly hasn't been the Leafs worse RHD. I felt sorry for Ceci for most of season. He was paired with the very irresponsible defensively Reilly. Reilly gets points on the PP and even strength but is liability to the Leafs when the Leafs don't have possession. But of course folks look at the Reilly and his points and Reilly is the teflon man....no criticism allowed.</div></div>
I don’t think I said trade him at all costs. He’s simply not top pair material and by default it seemed he was put there by Babcock and left there when Keefe took over. Ceci plays a similar game to Rielly just not as well. It’s why they don’t work together. They both like to take chances to make a break out defensively or pinch heavily in the offensive zone. He’d probably look a lot better paired with Muzzin who’d be more willing and able to cover up his mistakes. I don’t know if Holl is quite ready for top pair minutes and responsibility but I’d like someone more like him with Rielly because he doesn’t flash one way or the other. He just makes simple safe plays and that’s who you want with a run’n’gun type D man like Rielly. That’s my thoughts on Ceci anyway. He’s not bad, his style just doesn’t mesh with what Toronto needs from him, and at 4.5 he’s an obvious candidate to move to get below the cap

We'll take the picks and Hollowell (he's worth a roster spot) you can just bury hutch though, we'll still have Larmi and D'Orio under contract, and TOKARSKI in the AHL

Ceci You Later Go Get A Backup
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Sufferingleafsfan</b></div><div>I agree with you that Ceci is better than most are making him out to be - I think in the ArmChairGM world though Ceci makes the most sense as someone to ship out to make cap space.
And although Ceci is better than Zaitsev and is not a terrible dman he's NOT 4.5mil good. I wouldn't mind if the Leafs locked him up for say 4 years at 2.5-3. I'd be unhappy with anything over 3mil.</div></div>
Truer words have never been spoken about this player. You nailed it. Don't hate the player, hate the cap hit. It makes a difference.

I think the 3 players that make the most sence to move are kerfoot johnsson or kappanen. Fwd is where all our depth is

If we really wanted toughness heres how to get it
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TMLSage</b></div><div>I agree with you that team needs to add more size and toughness upfront so I like the additions of Korshkov and Engval. I would also like to see Leafs give Marchmant a look on 4th line.</div></div>
So talking head say the Leafs need size and people eat it up. The Leafs are the 3rd heaviest team in the league. They actually are not small. That is a myth. The toughness they need is a will to win not actual goonish toughness

No we was placed on waivers earlier and cleared. When he was brought back up, he had to be up a month or 10 games before having to pass through waivers again. So he can just be sent down since neither of those but I have seen the same reports. I am not sure whats going on to be honest.
