Another Petry Rumor
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TampaBayLightning22</b></div><div>In fairness there are a lot of rumblings of Filip Hronek being on the trade market, LeBrun had mentioned that if Jeff Petry goes to Dallas. That Steve Yzerman might heavily pursue John Klingberg and then move Hronek to a team looking for a 2nd pairing RD.</div></div>
I could see trading Hronek, but only if they got a haul. One idea I’ve been toying with but don’t have the courage to post is Erne (50% retained) and Hronek for Robertson, Sandin, Liljegren and Mrazek. My thought process was it fixes the leafs Mrazek issue, but that’s a lot to give up.

Possibly, but then we have a hole on RD and nothing to plug it with.
I think it's more likely that Kemell or Lekkerimäki is drafted or that Alex Nylander or Kasperi Kapanen can be acquired from PIT.
Cap problems could really turn out to be a huge benefit for Detroit this summer. LD fixed by cheap trades, right wingers with upside walked and signed for nothing, 2C available as UFA...

Yeah I don't think he waives. Even if we somehow manage to Sign Malkin as well. But then also Vancouver is trying to AVOID paying 8m+ with term... why the hell are we paying 11.6 XD

Yes. OP is going back into the past to when Kadri was traded to the Avs with 3 years remaining on a $4.5M AAV deal, not literally projecting the Kadri contract for this offseason.

Oh I see him wanting to cash in. I just don't know if any team would want to give him even five years term. He'll be 37.5 years old when the season ends if had a five years.
My opinion....and it might be for a little less money...but Boston 7.5m X 4 would be good fit.

It's speculation what Bergeron will do next season, I've heard that he's going to take it year by year. He might retire est year and he might not, The Bruins have announced that they will be having meeting with Pastrnak's camp about Contract extension. If Bergeron does retire next summer the Bruins will have plenty of cap space to resign Pastrnak with Nick Foligno, and Craig Smith contract also expiring

I think he would take less to stay here if he got 4-5 years. Reports are that it isn't salary it is just a heads thing. I wouldn't mind a 4-5 years at 7.5-8 per year. especially if we could sign lyubushkin for a bit cheaper

aggressive offseason
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TampaBayLightning22</b></div><div>They're only plugs until the kids are ready, Kapanen would be a fine 2nd line RW for now. Not sure if Pettersson makes it if Edvinsson becomes our 2nd pairing LD he's obviously not a top pairing guy and is too expensive for a bottom pairing LD.</div></div>
Pettersson is a solid defensive defencemen. It’s honestly crazy seeing how much mixed reports there are of his value. He’s been a fine defencemen but he is offensively not that good. I’m still a bit stumped as to why Sully changed things up when Marino and Pettersson were a fine shutdown duo. But looking at it now I think it’s because of how offensively deficient they were together and Sully could’ve just been trying to get more offence from the defence. But it did come at the sacrifice of Pettersson’s playing time.

Reports also say Letang could take anywhere between $7.5M-8M to stay in Pittsburgh. It could be that Hextall is trying to offer the max of said report of money to Letang in order for him to sign the 3 year deal. But I do doubt Letang accepts the same amount of AAV of his previous contract.

True he did just have a career year and might want to lock in a 5-7 year 7.5+AAV contract. He would have to really like the idea of being in LA and the teams roster. I do think there are teams including the Kings would would go after Fiala and Sandin as RFAs this summer. both teams probably couldn't match 6.2 and 4.2AAVs respectively.
