Rebuild.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>cbreezy14</b></div><div>The Core moving forward for Vancouver is Horvat and hopefully Patrick or Heischer up the middle depending on the draft lottery. On the wings Boeser, Goldoblin, Baertchi are in the right age group for wingers who should be part of the core moving forward. Virtanen had a difficult year in the AHL this year, but still could be a big piece going forward unless they could flip him for another forward similar in age and status. Dahlen could be part of this group, and his first pro year in North America will dictate how good he can become as part of the Canucks future. On defence Hutton, Stetcher and Juolevi are part of the core group going forward. Demko is there goalie of the future although they need to be patient with him and develop him properly in the AHL instead of hanging him out to try with a bad Vancouver team. Also worth noting Adam Gaudette is an intriguing prospect who Vancouver drafted in the 5th round in 2015 and had a great year in the NCAA for Northeastern finishing 9th in the NCAA in scoring. Outside of those guys Vancouver needs to do a rebuild properly like Toronto has done and shed salary of Vet players and give their young players an opportunity to prove themselves. Avoid free agent signings and continue to be bad and add young assets with the hope in a couple years down the road they can become a good team again and not a joke. But there needs to be some years of pain in order to acquire the assets to become a cup contender again</div></div>
100 % agree with all of it. I heard Dahlen has an out clause where he can go back to europe if he doesnt want to go to the ahl, which I dont like so we may not see him in north america for another year. I can see them maybe acquiring free agents to just flip em at the trade deadline for picks.

and edler ntc and not willing to waive. the canucks have 34.1% chance of getting 4th but thats still the most

Cheaper D option but has potential to be Rewarding
Couple things on the Gudbranson aspect. To qualify Gudbranson it needs to be 3.5 mil or higher as well as the canucks wont give him up for a 3rd rounder. The fans wont buy it as they gave up a 1st round prospect a 2nd rounder and a 4th just a year before as well as with Tryamkin gone and the possibilities of losing Sbisa in the draft the canucks then would have one of the softest defensive core in the nhl

Building off what I say
Eriksson has a nmc so not going to happen. And why 2020 its so far away. No way alzner get that low of a contract. No way vrbata comes back to Vancouver. No way horvat signs for 4 years at 4.5 million hes going to want more

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>scarbrow21</b></div><div>Vancouver is in rebuild. Tanev is very underrated and would most likely waive his NTC to come to WPG (he played for the Moose and actually was the one who convinced his brother to sign here as a College UFA).</div></div> NTC starts july 1st so he could be traded before then with no issues and its a very limited ntc where he only chooses 8 teams he wont go to.

killing it
Canucks dont need Defense and probably wouldnt give up draft picks . A 2nd round pick for brad Richardson is way too much and if they get rid of a forward the oilers would more than likely try and move on from the nuge

Vancouver Canucks 2017-2018
Vrbata wont come back here, and i wouldnt want to pay 6 million for him. Panik will probably cost you more dollar wise as the only reason i see the blackhawks giving up on him is if he costs 4 million. Im sure they can work out 2 million dollars. Sbisa trade is well laughable. Giving up on Erickson i guess wont be too bad except for he has a nmc and has to be asked to waive

I also think you're overpaying for Kane. He isn't simply the 30 goal scorer he was in Winnipeg. He will also get in more trouble. The exact opposite of what you need for a young, rebuilding team where you need veterans who'll be a good example for the kids.</div></div>
Not simply the 30 goal scorer he was in winnipeg yet has 27 goals in 68 games this year. And still is only 25 years old.

Canucks have stated they wont take part in big free agents this year. Why give up a 4th round pick for no reason since well what other reason does vegas have. Loui ericcson does have a nmc i believe and feel that its not enough for kane.

It's right there!!!
Issue with the Edler trade is that he has a no trade clause and has gone on record several times saying he doesn't want to move anywhere. He has a wife and kids and seems settled down here. Only way I feel the canucks can trade Edler if they bait him into thinking he gets exposed and that way he can go to a team of his choosing. As for sutter being exposed I dont see it happening. The whole reason why they moved Hansen was so they can have granlund as their last kept forward.

No way Canucks give up on 20 year old Brock Boeser for 30 year old pouliot. There would be more than just 1 riot in Vancouver if this trade went down. You may also see the first assassination on a GM. I know no one is un-tradeable its just that trade isnt close.

Ya all these signings should be in the same ball park. I can see Joulevi not making the team and heading to Finland just because of lack of minutes/games played , but in Vancouver I guess there are always defense man going down for long term injuries

I wouldnt mind seeing Brodin on the Canucks but I cant see them trading away Virtanen for a Defense. With 8 nhl Defenseman signed or rfa next year ( not including what happens in the expansion draft) Brodin would just add to the list. This of course doesnt include Juolevi, whos agent has said hes done with jrs and its Nhl or finland.
